Until I listend to Lost "Lincoln Lawyer" was my listen of the year. But Lost has moved into the number one spot. Yes, the story was a little far fetched but it was fast paced, amusing, intense and different. The reader was perfect and in general this was a great book.
I loved this book, it was well read and the story has lots of twists and turns. The hero's are flawed and brave, just the way I like them and the baddies are intelligently evil and deserve everything they get. My favorite Lehane book although "Gone Baby Gone" runs a close second
I bought this because it was on sale and it got great reviews. It is well written but it is seriously dour and depressing and probably captures the vietnam experience. But after a couple of hours I couldn't go on and moved on in case I topped myself.
I find it difficult to believe that this book recieved such positive ratings. The story was predictable, full of racial stereotypes and simple not worth listening to, which I am sorry to report I did... all the way through.
