It’s been two years since the world ended. Two years since the dead rose and the plague of ex-humanity decimated mankind. For most of that time, the superhero called St. George, formerly known to the world as the Mighty Dragon, has protected the people of Los Angeles at their film-studio-turned-fortress, The Mount. Together with his fellow heroes, he’s tried to give the survivors hope and something like a real life. But the swollen population of The Mount is becoming harder and harder to sustain....

Who would have thought that combining zombie fiction with super hero fiction would be such a successful combination. Two great tastes, but who would have thought that they would taste great together. A very entertaining listen. Peter Clines is an author to watch.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

This has to made it into my personal top ten list of favorite listens. The story is great and being a child of the 80's, there was a lot of references that I could relate to from my younger years. The story and narration were excellent and kept me thoroughly entertained through the entire novel.

Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

I enjoyed the novel, but I cannot say that I looked forward to the next stretch that I was going to listen to. His best novel of all time (for me) was "Old Mans War". It is worth a listen if your que is low.

This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

I have been a subscriber to Audible for years, and it is rare to find a novel this entertaining. I have to say that it has been one of my favorite reads in quite some time. The humor (yes you can actually have some humor in zombie fiction) had me laughing often. I am going to be following Mr. Tufo's work after my introduction through this novel.

The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

When multiple narrators work on a novel it can improve an experience tremendously. But when you have the strength of great actors performing the narration, you are in for a treat. Max Brooks has the chops to write fiction, especially in this genre. The performances by the narrators draw you into this book further than most. The only reason I gave the story 4 stars, was due to it being the abridged version. I would buy this novel again, if Max were to release the unabridged version for sure. This is one of my top ten audio books of all time.
