Once Amy and Dan Cahill's choice was simple - take a million dollars or the first of 39 Clues that lead to the source of unimaginable power. Now it's clear that the hunt for Clues is bigger than anything that Amy and Dan could ever have imagined.

What made the experience of listening to The 39 Clues, Book 10 the most enjoyable?

I got into this series quite accidentally, ordering the first of the series without realizing it was a 10-parter. Overall, I have enjoyed it and I'm no kid. But a wonderful choice for families who can ejoy listening together. Some parts of the series are stronger than others, but overall, it held my attention.

On the other hand, I'm unlikely to go forward with the sequel that starts with book 11.

What about David Pittu???s performance did you like?

Readers of all 10 parts were solid

A Fine Romance begins with Bergen's charming first husband, French director Louis Malle, whose huge appetite for life broadened her horizons and whose occasional darkness never diminished their love for each other. But her real romance begins when she discovers overpowering love for her daughter after years of ambivalence about motherhood.

I enjoyed this book that felt honest and direct in recounting Candice Bergen's experiences and feelings. Well worth the time and well read by the author.

I suspect we'll have a rash of these books sine "Gone Girl" was so well received and don't expect them to measure up but this certainly was good and worth my time..

  • The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House

America's first families are unknowable in many ways. No one has insight into their true character like the people who serve their meals and make their beds every day. Full of stories and details by turns dramatic, humorous, and heartwarming, The Residence reveals daily life in the White House as it is really lived through the voices of the maids, butlers, cooks, florists, doormen, engineers, and others who tend to the needs of the president and first family.

This was an interesting listen, but with few exceptions, a lot of the stories have already been told.
    Nonetheless, I enjoyed it.

As a child in small-town Oklahoma, Elizabeth Warren yearned to go to college and then become an elementary school teacher - an ambitious goal, given her family’s modest means. Early marriage and motherhood seemed to put even that dream out of reach, but 15 years later she was a distinguished law professor with a deep understanding of why people go bankrupt. Then came the phone call that changed her life: could she come to Washington, DC, to help advise Congress on rewriting the bankruptcy laws?

Amy says: "Great Book. Great Narration."
    "Fabulous"

    Story

No matter what your political persuasion, Warren makes a compelling argument for giving everyone she calls it a fighting chance. She reveals herself to be a warm compassionate feeling individual and perhaps some might not use her as a drinking companion but I certainly would.

Even having hundreds of closed cases to his credit can't keep LAPD police lieutenant Milo Sturgis from agonizing over the crimes that don't get solved - and the victims who go without justice. Victims like Katherine Hennepin, a young woman strangled and stabbed in her home. A single suspect with a solid alibi leads to a dead end - one even Alex Delaware's expert insight can't explain. The only thing to do is move on to the next murder case - because there's always a next one.

Luke Abramson, a brilliant cellular biologist who is battling lung cancer, has one joy in life: his 10-year-old granddaughter, Angela. When Angela is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and given less than six months to live, Luke wants to try a new enzyme, Mortality Factor 4 (MORF4), that he believes will kill Angela's tumor. However, the hospital bureaucracy won't let him do it because MORF4 has not yet been approved by the FDA. Knowing Angela will die before he can get the treatment approved, Luke abducts her from the hospital with plans to take her to a private research laboratory in Oregon.

It's easy to bond with these characters and some might think the premise far fetched. But I've written a lot about health care and it would be short-sighted not to believe that money rules the world.

Homicide detective Max Segal is on the case, but he’s distracted by his failing marriage and an attractive journalist who is covering the case. Judy Wells has everyone fooled, including the police. She’s been methodically stalking, seducing, and murdering every man who has ever dumped her - and her revenge seems almost justified. But the FBI is closing in.

It begins with a chilling phone call to Casey Woods. And ends with another girl dead. College-age girls with long red hair. Brutally murdered, they're posed like victims in a film noir. Each crime scene is eerily similar to the twisted fantasy of a serial offender now serving thirty years to life - a criminal brought to justice with the help of Forensic Instincts. Call. Kill. Repeat. But the similarities are more than one psychopath's desire to outdo another.
