I really enjoyed this book. It was not what I was expecting, and was pleasantly surprised that the direction this book took was not predictable.
I have NO idea why this book is so popular! The author does a great job at character development, but just when you start to get interested in a story it ends, never to be revisited. When I realized that it was pointless to invest any time in any of the characters, as I would never learn any more of their story, I shut off the book. One of the few I never finished, and the only book that I can honestly say "The movie was SO much better than the book!"
I was reluctant to read this book as I am often disappointed in Stephen King's lack of a satisfying ending to most of his books. This book, however, had me in it's grip from the first word to the last.
I wasn't expecting much when I started this book, but I was hooked right away. The ONLY thing I didn't like about this book was that it ended!
Full of bad puns, bad attempts at humor, and absolutely no point. I read the reviews & expected at least some humor, but I found none. The ONLY saving grace on my purchasing this book is the proceeds go to a good cause. I'd have rather just donated myself & saved the 8 minutes for a decent read.
I purchased this book because of the reviews, and I stuck it out until the end. It was a complete waste of a credit and my time. There really isn't any plot or point to this story.
I remember reading this when it first came out in book form. I had remembered it as being one of my favorite books ever. When it came out in audio format I was afraid I'd remembered it wrong and that the book would be forever ruined for me in revisiting this story years later. I was wrong. I loved every second of it! Well worth every second spent listening!
