I was looking for something funny and after reading some of the reviews and ratings, got this. It wasn't funny. I stuck with it for a few hours hoping it would take a turn but then I had to quit and get something else. If you want funny, try Christopher Moore's "A Dirty Job" or "Fool". I haven't written reviews for those but I had to write one for this one to spare you the trouble of buying this Gaiman book. I actually laughed out loud with the Moore books.
His voice was wrong for this book - I can't explain it.
I kept waiting for something interesting to happen. It's soooo slow and nothing happens. I couldn't finish it - finally gave up.
The story is excellent - thank you Abraham V. and the reader was wonderful - thank you Sunil M. I will look for the two of you again.
I would compare this book to Kite Runner for its depth of emotion and gut wrenching story at times (I'm a crier.)
He was perfectly loveable as Marion.
I cried at the sad points (and happy ones too probably).
This is definitely worth your credit. If you enjoy well written stories that are hard to put down, get this one!
I loved this book! I usually read suspense and thrillers and wasn't sure I would like this one, but after reading some of the reviews, I bought it. And it will stay with me a long time. I don't read books twice, but I'm actually considering listening again! I also just finished another by the same narrator (chosen specifically) and it also was great - called Waking Lazarus.
