The author, comes across to me, as one of the most credible investigators of the murder of JFK. I would have absolutely loved to have met this man and listened to his wisdom. I remember the day I heard that our President was shot, and I saw Lee Harvey Oswald murdered that weekend, live on TV. Everyone I knew was weeping with intense sadness. It was a horrible day for our country. How could this happen in the great ole USA? And so, our generation had to live with this tragedy and then live with the lies our leaders told us about this event. Gaeton Fonzi has helped me tie up; many of the loose ends I had in my mind about that time in our history in a very credible and detailed book. For me the book is very interesting and it was hard to put it down. Gaeton was one of the true patriots of our day. Great book. Thank-you Audible for allowing the truth to be revealed through this book.
Definitely based on Mark Lane's thorough explanation of an event that shook the world
His critique of Vincent Bugliosi's book and his revealing of Buglios's hypocrisy and ineptness.
Clear and believable.
I remember the day JFK was murdered and the utter sadness of everyone that I knew. Then the totally unbelievable murder of Oswald, in of all places .....the Dallas Police station. Now, after listening to Mr. Lane's book, I feel outrage at the lies our government put out there. They shouldn't wonder why people are not so patriotic anymore.
It would also be a good idea to watch the movie- "Rush to Judgement" Thank-you Mark Lane for your service to this country.
There are many different viewpoints available to us through books. This book is written from a pro communist atheist woman's point of view. You are left with a feeling of hopelessness for this world we live in. She reveals to us that most men are prone to violence unless of course they are socialists. She tries to give us a very negative view of the United States and almost anything that is related to faith in God. I must admit that it is an entertaining story, but the bitterness that exudes from this woman is nauseating. She paints her prejudices with a broad brush. Fortunately she doesn't speak for all women (although I think she thinks she does). There is some truth in the story about the hypocrisy of religion, but I think it's taken to an extreme. This book has an obvious arrogant leftist agenda and does not offer a balanced viewpoint. I will, be looking at getting other books about Africa. Just not from this woman. I got fooled by all the positive reviews.
The fact that it tackles the question which everyone who has ever lived, deals with. The question 'what is after death?' This is a well done true story about a man who has dealt with other people's fear of death on a daily basis and what happens when he is faced with death. Having a first hand narrator helps to not only 'hear' the story but to feel it also.
I haven't wanted to read other Near Death Experience books, but when I saw it was a Neuro-surgeon, it really got my attention. Credibility is a big issue for me.
He comes across as being very sincere and genuine.
When he talked about his mother ,( I don't want to give away any of the story ) it was hard not to feel the tears.
This will grab your attention for more than just the time you put into reading it. Real life is real life, no matter how many scoffers there are out there. They certainly need to read the whole book before making rash judgments. One of the top books I have listened to on Audible. Thank-you Audible. And thank-you Eben Alexander.
Seems to be written from the point of view of a 'blue blood' New England liberal, who is looking down his nose while he writes about a place he hasn't lived in. Shows a distorted view of Texas (having lived there, I know) , and anything or anyone that is religious is made fun of. You will be much happier purchasing 'JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters' if you are looking for a much more balanced look at the 'big event'.
Mr King's book is more for those looking for a romance novel. A disappointing book and too long for what it is, unless you love very long romance novels.
