  • Private

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 3 mins)
    • By James Patterson, Maxine Paetro
    • Narrated By Peter Hermann

Former Marine helicopter pilot Jack Morgan runs Private, a renowned investigation company with branches around the globe. It is where you go when you need maximum force and maximum discretion. The secrets of the most influential men and women on the planet come to Jack daily - and his staff of investigators uses the world's most advanced forensic tools to make and break their cases.

    Meaghan says: "private"
    "Twists at every corner."

Patterson ends almost every chapter with a hook making you want to listen just a little bit more. Fast paced. Awesome. I usually do not care for joint author efforts, but I am a huge James Patterson fan. This was the first one of his co-written books I have read. He and Maxine Paetro make a good writing team. I will definitely read another by the two of them.

  • The Dead Hand of History

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 36 mins)
    • By Sally Spencer
    • Narrated By Nicolette McKenzie

It will be no easy task to fill the shoes of a local legend like DCI Charlie Woodend, the newly-promoted Monika Paniatowski tells herself – particularly when he’s still a very real presence in Whitebridge – but given a little time, she thinks she can grow into them. Yet time is the one thing she does not have. On her first day in the new job, a severed female hand is discovered on the riverbank. And not only that, but the killer has already alerted the press.

    Amazon Customer says: "Good potential"

This was one of those creepy thrillers. I listened to this one on a trip and the drive flew by. I was glued to this one.

Hannah Griffin was a girl when tragedy struck on her family's farm. It was the nation's worst murder scene in decades, and the killer was never found. Two decades later, Hannah is a CSI investigating a case of child abuse when the past comes hurtling back. Years of buried questions are brought to life. A killer with unfinished business is on the hunt. And an anonymous message turns Hannah's blood cold: "Your Mom called...."

    Kathleen says: "A Wicked Snow"
    "Excellent Thriller"

Fast moving, plot continued to keep me glued to it...never a dull moment. I loved it. Can't wait to read more of Olsen.

  • 61 Hours: A Jack Reacher Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By Lee Child
    • Narrated By Dick Hill

A tour bus crashes in a savage snowstorm and lands Jack Reacher in the middle of a deadly confrontation. In nearby Bolton, South Dakota, one brave woman is standing up for justice in a small town threatened by sinister forces. If she's going to live long enough to testify, she'll need help. Because a killer is coming to Bolton, a coldly proficient assassin who never misses.

Gustavo says: "Make sure you have time before you start"
    "On-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense"

The countdown from 61 hours till the event throughout the book keeps the suspense constantly building. Fast paced with turns and twists throughout. There are several surprises. I would recommend this book if you like to be held on the edge of your seat.
