I thought this was just another book on Google. It has the Google story of course but much more. Very well written (and read) book about search engines, with the emphasis on how they affect business and our way of life. Also introduces the key technical concepts but you don't need to know about IT to read this book. The Google stuff was also great because the writer tells the positives and the negatives in a way that sounds quite objective.
This Vangonotes series is utter waste of time. It was probably meant to help students to to pass a book exam. Sorry to say, it won't do it, maybe the producers of this recording ran out of money or time. If interested in the topic, go ahead and read the original book instead.
Before buying the "book" I unfortunately didn't realize this is not the real book. Instead a third of the recording is a summary of the book's text and the rest is questions about the recording so it "helps" you study the material of the excellent original book.
The problem is that the summary text is a really simplified version of the original and the study questions are even simpler. In fact they are so stupid they are probably targeted for people well below the average IQ. I listened less than half of the first chapter before concluding it's not worth continuing. Hence will delete the whole book from my ipod.
Really wonder what student would find this useful. And can say with conviction it's completely useless for anyone else.
Will continue by enjoying the paper version of this classic.
Very comprehensive description of Twitter, how to use it and how to promote your business with it. Extremely detailed. Clearly written by an expert. Worked out well for me as I'm just starting to use Twitter. For someone more familiar with it I suppose it is still very useful but could be a bit heavy listen. The reader is clear but his reading style is too peculiar, even to the point of being annoying even though he doesn't mean it. However slightly distracts attention from the content before you get used to the voice.
If you want to read one book about how your business can benefit from the web, this is it. In the midst of all hype, these guys offer a simple and obvious, yet powerful method to figure out what your company should do. As the authors say, so many people get involved with web 2.0 just because "everyone is there", without knowing whether and why they should be there, too. The book also offers multitudes of useful examples.
The most boring audiobook I've listened. Had to give up after about an hour. It's not fact nor fiction, not a novel nor a business book. Probably closest to a not-very-well-written novel. A waste of time and money.
