I really enjoyed listening to Rebel Buddha, but I know I will need to listen to it again. There were so many good concepts to digest I know this will be one of those where I pick up something new each time. I find the writing very approachable for the modern reader and I learned a lot about Buddhist concepts which is just what I was looking for.

I wanted to like this way more than I did. He just romanticized the use of hard drugs way too much for me to be comfortable with.

I love the Dalai Lama but this book was very difficult to get through. Listening to it on audio is too complex to keep my interest. I liked "The Art of Happiness" much better. But maybe I just need to try this one again another time...

This is really a unique book. Each chapter has a completely different style. And even has completely different subject matter! The characters weave in and out of each others stories... This is somewhat hard to listen to on audiobook because I found myself wanting to flip back to other chapters and re-check out the names to see how everyone was connected. So I think I missed some things but I still got it. I also really liked all the music references sprinkled throughout.

I really enjoyed Kathy's explanations and details about choices for becoming vegan.It did get a bit gory in parts where she went into the industry, but the health information is really great. And it IS easy to start adding in a few vegan meals during the week. I'm excited and feel confident about trying it out.

Listening to this best seller on audiobook has be better than reading it. Tina Fey narrates it herself and at times she seemed to customize the telling just for audiobook. Her style is great. I really enjoyed listening to this one.

Loved it! I'm not familiar with the story of King Lear, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed this even more if I was. This book is FUNNY! It's bawdy (some might take offense) and witty. I don't think I've ever read something so refreshing and historical at the same time...

I loved this book! Maybe it is where I am in my life right now, but I have never been truly been inspired by a book by the way I have with this one. It is a cross between a woman's growth into an independant self that she likes, her travel experiences, and learning about cultures from around the world. The book is separated into three parts. Eat, she is based in Rome and explores Italy. Pray, she is at an ashram in India learning about herself. Love, she is in Bali winding up her adventure and setting her paces for the next step in her life.

I want to listen to it again and maybe I will. The book was different that I thought it would be. I thought it would be more about her travels, not about a woman finding herself. So I kind of tuned out some of the first parts when she was in Italy. But I got completely caught up in her and her experiences once she got to India. She practices meditation and she goes through thinking how tedious some of these practices are and how unrealistic they are in every day life. But then she gets swayed over by her guru. I found her path very interesting. Some of my favorite parts is how she described her relationships and the people she meets from all over the world. And when she goes to these places she lives there for four months each so we find out what life really is like. The audiobook is read by the author herself and she seems like someone who thinks and feels the same things as me. I want to be her friend :)

I am not a big Jane Austen fan. In fact, I only read one book in High School - Northanger Abbey. But I like the movies. But don't let the title deceive you. This book is not all about Jane Austen. It is about people and the people happen to be in a book club, reading Jane Austen books. There are a wide variety of characters. In each chapter of the book you learn all about one of the club memebers and at the same time they are reviewing one of Jane Austen's books in the book club. The characters are unique and you will admire their strengths and understand their weaknesses. This book was refreshing and a very easy to listen too.

Although this book is a prequel to The DaVinci Code, also written by Dan Brown, I actually read it afterwards. In the beginning I felt his style of writing was a bit rustier than the smoothness of The DaVinci Code. I also saw a different side of his main character which I didn't really appreciate at first. However, once I got into the book, I actually felt it was faster-paced and more suspenseful than The DaVinci Code.

The beginning takes you inside CERN and was a bit hard to listen to since they were describing several scientific processes. I had to re-listen a few times to deeply understand. But after the first several chapters the mystery unfolds and the book plays out like a favorite Robert Ludlum novel.

This is one I actually couldn't stop listening too! The story takes you into the depths of Rome and inside the Vatican, detailing several practices. The journey takes you inside the Vatican Library, into St. Peter's tomb, catacombs, castles, secret passageways, various churches and more.
