"All the little things you never knew"
Bought this for my kids to listen to (and being a Star Wars fan myself). It's great to hear the same story we all know and love, but so much more detail! It's the 2 hour movie told over 6 hours, so like any good book vs. movie comparison it can go into much more detail. The dramatization makes it that much more fun to listen to. The sound effects and background music are superb. Highly recommended.
"Great book, good narration"
The story is exceptional, I'm glad I picked this one up. The narrator does a decent job at using different voices for different characters, but sometimes tries a little too hard and falls flat. For example, to my ear, the voice of Sophira (the dragon) sounds just like one of the monsters from Sesame Street. Not exactly awe-inspiring. So, minus one star for narration that could have been better, but I would still recommend. I'm now hooked on the series, and likely won't be able to wait for the audible version of the final book, and have already pre-ordered the hardback from Amazon.
"Not as funny as his show"
I think Colbert might benefit from the play he gets off his audience and guests. He just doesn't come across as funny in a straight-up audio book. I stopped listening / reading about halfway through, I just found myself losing interest and paying attention to other things instead of the book.
