"Not funny! Some rude content!"
I might, but it would have to be a different subject and not live readings.
Possibly.
Pretty much.
Not applicable due to this being a collection of stories.
I chose this to listen to with my teenage son as we both enjoy humor. There was little humor and a moderate amount of the 'f' word in several of the stories, used as in, "and he f*d her behind the dumpster", "and they f*d..." etc. I'm not objected to rude language in many cases, but the usage in these stories was just crude. It would be good to include some sort of info in the description if the story contains crudeness.None of the stories is what I would call funny; most were pretty weird. They were all performed live, so the actual reading of them varied a bit in volume and clarity, with some live audience sounds.I would definitely recommend not purchasing this book if you are expecting funny or if you have children listening, especially teenage boys.
"Great book!"
I really enjoyed this book. It is not a sappy love story, which I much appreciate. It is just a really good story. It is sort of science fiction but it is also sort of a thriller because the scenario could happen someday in real life. I liked it a lot and have since read both the other books based on the character Tyler Locke which although quite different in storyline have some similar elements in that their stories could really happen/have happened. Great reads!
The fact that things in the story could happen/have happened in real life - it was fiction and a bit far-fetched, but still easily in the realm of the possible.
Well after getting into the story I realized that I actually had read the book, but I was better able to picture the scenes and action by his reading. I did like that he changed his voice a bit for the different characters. I think that helps follow the dialogue.
Yes. I usually listen only in the car but I also listened to this one at home several times.
The reader was a tad slow and I enjoyed it more when played at 1.25X
"Good story for teens and adults"
My son and I had this book recommended to us by a good friend who also has a son. It took us a while to start listening to it but once we did, we both were anxious to spend time in the car and see what would happen next. There are some kind of gross & mildly scary parts so I wouldn't recommend this for the 12 & under crowd, but my son and I liked it a lot. We just finished it today and yesterday I downloaded the second book in the series. I hope Mr. Evans will keep going!
Hm...I have no idea.
Hatch - he is the bad guy and the voice was very distinctive and both smooth, calm, and nice and also creepy and sharp, as the character called for.
When Hatch asks Michael what his mother would tell him to do.
This book was enjoyed by me (the mom) and my son, and anyone would enjoy it, but it is especially nice to have a book that's good for a boy, as there are so many teen books written for girls. Also, there was not a single occurrence of bad language, adult humor, adult situations, etc. The book has a rather dark story line, making it too intense for younger kids, but it is also especially nice to have a clean story for a teenager. Thanks!
