When best-selling author Carrie McClelland visits the stark and beautiful Slains Casle, she decides to use the castle as the setting for her new novel, and one of her own ancestors, Sophia, as her heroine. Then Carrie realises her writing is taking on a life of its own and the lines between fact and fiction become increasingly blurred. As Sophias' memories draw Carrie more deeply into the intrigue of 1708, she discovers a captivating love story lost in time.

What did you like best about Sophia's Secret? What did you like least?

Good story . Bad narration. It was like the narrator was whispering through and did not have character voices. It was very easy to get lost on who was speaking. Was very easy to fall asleep with the narrator being very monotone.

How could the performance have been better?

    Different narrator.

Did Sophia's Secret inspire you to do anything?

    No

A Breath of Snow and Ashes continues the saga of 18th-century Scotsman Jamie Fraser and his 20th-century, time-traveling wife, Claire. The year is 1772, and the rift between Britain and its American colonies has put a frightening word into the minds of all concerned: revolution. In the backwoods of North Carolina, violence has already reared its ugly head, as cabins have been burned to the ground. To preserve the colony for King George III, the governor pleads with Jamie to bring the people together and restore peace. But Jamie has the burden of knowing that war cannot be avoided.

Wonderful book as always with Diana Gabalons books. Davina Porter is the possible narrator.

    Everything

What about Davina Porter’s performance did you like?

Her different character voices are wonderful and so believeable . Davina is not just reading the book , it is a performance . She is truly gifted.
