Richard Dawkins' brilliant reformulation of the theory of natural selection has the rare distinction of having provoked as much excitement and interest outside the scientific community as within it. His theories have helped change the whole nature of the study of social biology, and have forced thousands to rethink their beliefs about life.

Would you listen to The Selfish Gene again? Why?

I've enjoyed listening to this book tremendously. I'm totally new to this topic but still found it easy to understand. Can't wait to read (listen to) his other books.

Mark Hawkins, former park ranger and expert tracker, is out of his element, working onboard the Magellan, a research vessel studying the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. But his work is interrupted when, surrounded by 30 miles of refuse, the ship and its high-tech systems are plagued by a series of strange malfunctions and the crew is battered by a raging storm. When the storm fades and the sun rises, the beaten crew awakens to find themselves anchored in the protective cove of a tropical island...and no one knows how they got there.

Would you try another book from Jeremy Robinson and/or R. C. Bray?

R.C. Bray - of course. He's the only good thing about this audio book
    J. Robinson - no thanks.

What was most disappointing about Jeremy Robinson’s story?

It wasn't disappointing, I didn't expect too much as I never read anything from him. It's a children's book at best. I like fantasy books but this is just ridiculous. It's based on real facts in part (unit 731 did exist) but goes way too far into absurd-land.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    None

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    When will this end already?

    Any additional comments?

The thing I probably hated most was the tone of most characters. R.C Bray did a great job in bringing to life the over-confident chauvinistic macho characters. I actually hated the characters, all of them.

What did you love best about Yesterday's Gone: Season 2?

The story is great and engaging. Ray Chase (doing Boricio) is AMAZING and I'm definitely going to search for more books read by him. R.C Bray delivers an excellent performance as well. My favorite narrators.

What did you like best about this story?

    I can't guess what's going to happen.

Did the narrators do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I can't blame the narrators. Some are amazing while the others are OK. What I did really HATE was the fact that (in order to save money?) some characters are played by different narrators. You get used to Boricio being narrated by Ray Chase when all of a sudden, when he meets Luca, Maxwell Glick who's doing Loca is also doing Boricio. He even pronounces the name Boricio differently. The two narrators are so different (Chase sounds like a hardass pervert criminal, while Maxwell sounds like a kid) that it totally ruined the experience for me. Can't you have both narrators together for such scenes?, common! I'd pay double to get the book read right.

    Any additional comments?

Sort out the narration. Chase should do Boricio - ALWAYS. Bray should do Brent - ALWAYS. Maxwell should do Luca - ALWAYS. You messed up the book!

  • Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries

Neil deGrasse Tyson has a talent for guiding readers through the mysteries of outer space with stunning clarity and almost childlike enthusiasm. This collection of his essays from Natural History magazine explores a myriad of cosmic topics. Tyson introduces us to the physics of black holes by explaining what would happen to our bodies if we fell into one; he also examines the needless friction between science and religion, and notes Earth's status as "an insignificantly small speck in the cosmos".

If you could sum up Death by Black Hole in three words, what would they be?

    Educating, fun, amazing

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Makes complicated stuff simple to understand. Narration is brilliant.

What about Dion Graham’s performance did you like?

He makes this book even better than it would have been had I read it myself.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

I heard it twice. I think I'll hear it again.
