At key points throughout North America, an invasion force is taking over communications, government, industry, and people's bodies. And the nation is helpless to stop it, because the invaders multiply far faster than they can be destroyed, controlling the mind of every unsuspecting person they encounter. Enter Sam Cavanaugh, a can-do intelligence officer for the United States' most secret service. Cavanaugh is the only man who can stop the invaders. But to do that he'll have to be invaded himself.

This book has interesting twists, Heinlein gives a quirky look at what it might be like if a super power lost control. Well worth the read, not to predictable. Lloyd James (Narrator) does very well giving the book quite an exciting feel. As you read this keep in mind it was written in the 1950's so the predictions for the year 2000 are a bit off but it does make the book quite charming.

At his death in 1988, Robert A. Heinlein left a legacy that almost single-handedly defined modern science fiction. But one of Heinlein's masterpieces was never finished. In 1955, he began work on Variable Star, a powerful and passionate tale of two young lovers driven apart by pride, power, and the vastness of interstellar time and space. Now, the Heinlein estate has authorized award-winning author Spider Robinson to expand his outline into a full-length novel. And the result is vintage Heinlein.

As a devout RAH fan I had some serious doubts as to it even being possible for anyone to pick up on a Heinline thought and bring it to bring to anything more entertaining than you r run of the mill sci-fi television show, but Spider Robison does the most amazing job in this book as both “coauthor” and narrator.

I really hope Spider takes the time to come back to this novel, yes there are many unanswered questions.

I would defiantly recommend this book to any Sci-Fi Reader, possibly even to someone’s first taste of the genre.

When the man Niobe loves is shot, she wants revenge. Her only chance is to accept a challenge to solve a maze of riddles devised by Satan himself. But Niobe's strength is her beauty, not her intelligence, and the fate of the human race hangs in the balance. Can she outwit Satan at his own game, or has her failure already been woven into the very Tapestry of Fate?

Though this is the third of the series, this book is so very well written and narrated, it is very hard to put down once it starts. Niobe is so very lovable and watching her develop is so much fun. As with the other Incarnations books, the author gives a wonderful note at the end that is very revealing in to the magic that makes a Piers Anthony story a story that reaches his readers. If you have any doubts in this series give this a listen, you will not be disappointed at all.

When life seems pointless to Norton, he accepts the position of Incarnation of Time. With the other incarnations - Death, Fate, War, and Nature - distracting him, Satan springs a cunning trap. Bearing an Hourglass is a fascinating, richly imagined tale that reaches beyond genre conventions. Science-fiction/fantasy legend Piers Anthony combines a gripping plot with a serious and thought-providing study of good and evil.

Second in the series, this is a challenging book to follow, however a must read for those who bite in to the "Luna" saga. Do not miss the authors note at the end! On its own this book doesn't have the punch of On a Pale Horse, but is fill so many gaps needed to truly understand the strange view of Piers' Incarnations. Don't pass this one up, in will entertain as well as educate.

I have waited for this title to be brought to Audible. I was not dispointed at all, Definately worth the time to listen. Piers has a light hearthen way of poking fun at a very serious issue. Narration was quite good exceded my expectations. If you like this one there a 6 more in the series.
