I have downloaded over 100 Audible titles and this has proven to be the absolute best for story and narration. Susan Ericksen did a phenomenal job on this narration and the story moved me beyond belief.
I have read and or listened to every Grisham novel written to date and this particular one was a major disappointment. Wasted Audible credit!
The narration by Grisham was extremely difficult to listen through...I have stopped after the second story as it is just so poorly read...stresses the wrong words and the wrong time for easy listening. Stories are mundane.
This story was one of my favorites by Nora Roberts. Although the narrator did have a lisp, I thought she did an amazing job and I can certainly overlook and just appreciate the strength and fortitude of the narrator to pursue her passion in spite of a minor speech impediment.
Can't wait for the next one in this series!
One of the best books I have ever listened to on tape. Great story and excellent narration.
I titled my review as "branching out" because this is not the type of book I would normally even consider reading or listening to.
I really enjoyed the experience. The emotions and facts that were communicated with this heart wrenching story were amazing.
It helps you appreciate what life is like for those raised in Harlem and provided with few breaks in life. The graphic details of prison life were as real to life as I have read in factual accounts previously (non-fiction).
Narrator did an excellent job....depicting the emotions of the characters was done superbly and made you feel like it was really happening right now.
