The book was a bit disjointed and superficial (unlike so many other Leon Uris books which I have really enjoyed.) My biggest complaints, however, were with the recording: 1)some sections seemed to be spliced in out of order--making things quite confusing and 2) on several occasions, I could hear someone laughing in the background.
I have to admit I did not check notice the length of this book until after I bought it, but at only 4 hours and 39 minutes I'm feeling taken advantage of. It doesn't help that the chapters are each only 2-3 minutes long.
The story is fine and the performance is good, but it feels as if the author is 'milking it' to even get to the 4 hour mark...kind of like my high school daughter stretching a 5 page paper into 10 pages.
