Under the plain gray skirts of Miss Beatrice Lockwood’s gown, a pistol waits at the ready. For Beatrice is a paid companion on a secret mission - and with a secret past - and she must be prepared to fight for her life at any moment. Yet she is thrown oddly off guard by the fierce-looking man who joins her in foiling a crime outside a fancy ball - and then disappears into the shadows, leaving only his card. His name is Joshua Gage....

Would you consider the audio edition of The Mystery Woman to be better than the print version?

I didn't enjoy the audio version of this one. I was really dissapointed. Listening to Joshua was almost painful

Who was your favorite character and why?

Beatrice was a good character, typical of the series

Would you listen to another book narrated by Justine Eyre?

I'm not sure. The voice for Beatrice was fine but the voice for Joshua took me out of the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wanted to like it more than I did.

    Any additional comments?

I will read in again next month to see if I like it better than the audio version. I'll read the third one if it comes out. I liked the story but the romance fell flat for me, maybe it was the voice.

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.

Would you listen to Dark Witch again? Why?

I would and will later on

What other book might you compare Dark Witch to and why?

    Three Sisters Island

What does Katherine Kellgren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I found that I like to read along with the narrator. Katherine has a voice that I like to listen to.

    Any additional comments?

I kept this title for a couple of weeks and read around it because I saw some bad reviews.
I should know better. The first two chapters were difficult for me. When I hit chapter three and we were back in the present time it all came together for me.

I enjoyed Three Sisters Island and this is quite alot like that series. Nora writes a very good story and now I have to wait for the next two.
