Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

What made the experience of listening to The Witness the most enjoyable?

Nora Roberts' story telling is peerless. She creates characters who come alive, writes dialogue that sounds real, establishes story lines that keep you enthralled.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes - more than once I found my heart racing as events unfolded toward inevitable confrontation.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

    Yes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

After a dozen years running from people who want to kill her, will she stop running now and take a stand for love?

  • Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking, reading to partying; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over brainstorming in teams. Although they are often labeled "quiet," it is to introverts that we owe many of the great contributions to society--from van Gogh’s sunflowers to the invention of the personal computer.

If you could sum up Quiet in three words, what would they be?

    interesting, informative, worthwhile

What was one of the most memorable moments of Quiet?

None in particular--it's nonfiction. The entire book was well worth listening to.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrator had a pleasant voice, but it was a little too restrained. On the one hand, it was sort of appropriately quiet for a book on introverts, but it felt a little too on the nose for me.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    n/a

Tribes are groups of people aligned around an idea, connected to a leader and to each other. Tribes make our world work, and always have. The new opportunity is that it's easier than ever to find, organize, and lead a tribe. The Web has enabled an explosion of all kinds of tribes - and created shortage of people to lead them. This is the growth industry of our time. Tribes will help you understand exactly what's at stake, and why YOU can and should lead a tribe of your own.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, because the content was interesting and thought-provoking.

What did you like best about this story?

It's not a story. This is nonfiction. I liked the ideas.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Seth Godin?

Somebody more experienced with narration. Seth wasn't terrible, but it sounded stiff and unnatural, which was a little distracting to me.

Did Tribes inspire you to do anything?

To think more about the ideas he presented. I will listen to it again.
