This was another excellent installment in the continuing saga of the Iron Druid. If you liked the previous books, you will love this one as well. If you have not listened to the other books, I recommend you start there.

If you are like me and are always looking for other books you may like, you might wan to try Brandon' Sanderson's "The Stormlight Archives: The Way of Kings," "The Scar," by Sergey and Marina Dyechenko, "The son of Neptune" by Rick Riordan, the most recent installment in the Kris Longknife series by Mike Shepard - "Furious" - although I think this installment in the series did not really advance the story as much as I would have liked, it still moves the story along some. Please find out what other reviewers have to say before deciding if to read any of the above series. I enjoyed them all, but some more than others. If there is a book you enjoyed, please share it. I have been following this series with hope. This installment reminds me of why I love Hobb's books. Excellent writing- great resolutions, significant progress in the story.

If you have enjoyed other series by Hobb, you will like this installment. In my opinion, it accomplished a lot more than earlier installments.

First off, I will start by saying that I will read the next book in the series. However, this book did not give the same satisfaction as the first book in the series.

In the previous books, as in most books, the author builds towards a goal - you keep trying to figure out what that goal will be, how it will turn out, and you expect what you are reading to be contributions towards that goal; everything leads you to that goal and the story hangs together.

I felt that If I had only listened to the last hour of this book, I would not have missed very much. Maybe all the things discussed in this book will gain more meaning in future books of the series. In this book, they seem to be non-contributary to the outcome of the book. The only parts that really seem to matter are those parts where the warded man himself is talked about, or where his opposite number is discussed. My hope is that groundwork is being laid in this book. It is impossible to know if that is really the case. If I had it to do over, I truly would have listened to only the last half of the book now that I know all what I was reading added little to the altimate conclusion.

It feels like the overall body of the story and the conclusion are two different stories that have little relation to each other; they are only tied together loosely by a thin thread. If you decide to read this book, you will understand better what I mean (and you'd have been forewarned).

It is not a waste of a credit. But don't expect the same satisfaction you got from the first book-

This installment advances the story a little bit - not nearly as much as I would have liked, but it still advances it some.

If you liked the other installments in the series, you will most likely not be fully satisfied with this one, but you might not hate it altogether if you keep in mind that there will be more installments. It would probably not be your favorite; but then again, it might - one man's meat being another man's poison.

Find out what other reviewers think before you decide - it might help you make up your mind. If you haven't read the books from the beginning, I suggest you start there.

The last installment left me a little unsatisfied. This installment is worthy of the series, and it is good to hear James Marsters reading the series again. He seems to really understand Harry Dresden's inner self - or it could just be that I have gotten used to hearing him as Harry Dresden. In any case, it was enjoyable to hear him reading it again.

If you are always looking for new series, you might like: The heoroes of olympus series by Rick Riordan, Michelle Sagara's "Cast In xxxxxxxxxxx" series, and of course, the Iron Druid series. Everything isn't for everyone. So find out what other reviewers think before you decide.

The plot was straight-forward, easy to follow, and was enjoyable to listen to.

If you are looking for an enjoyable story, you might like this one. It is not full of intrigue, or complicated, or full of politics. It is a simply story, simply told. Having said that, I would say that I enjoyed listening, both to this book, and to the following two books in the series. The story isn't complicated; It doesn't arrive at the end you would think it will come to from the beginning, but the ending was not terrible either. All in all, I enjoyed listening to it.

Before you decide, though, please find out what other reviewers think. All things aren't for everyone. I always like recommending that the reader considers other reviews before deciding.

I have heard this book read by Roger Zelazny himself. Whereas he wrote an excellent story in this series, he himself is NOT a great dramatic actor. The reading by Allessandro Juliani really added to the series- When Zelazny himself read this book, I didn't notice any differences between characters when he read. Juliani's reading is superior and adds a lot of enjoyment to the series. I am not sorry I got this book again even after having heard the author's version of it. I am looking forward to seeing how the entire series feels now with Juliani's reading.

If you are like me and are looking for great new series, you might like this one. Fair warning: from what I recall, the series' quality did degrade towards the end, but the beginning parts was excellent; it climaxed, then left some questions unanswered. Through it all, though, it provides an enjoyable experience.

Everything isn't for everyone. This series has been around for a while so I'm sure a lot of people have opinions about it. Before you commit to it, please find out what other reviewers think. If there's a series you've enjoyed, please share it. Thank you.

This series has been interesting and I will get the final book in the series when it does become available - there is one thing, though - the humor seemed forced to me in this last book. It just appeared Sanderson is running out of ways to make the story funny and he is, well, forcing it. As I said, though, the main story is still quite interesting - I just ignored those parts that seemed force and enjoyed the story itself. If you decide to listen to this book, keep that in mind - also, read what other reviewers have to say; it may just be a case of humor mismatch-his humor in this book not matching my humor.

If you are like me and are constantly looking for an interesting series to read and you have read the greats (Sanderson's Mistborn series, his Elantris Stand alone book, his Stormlight Archives series, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, GRR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series) you might want to try Lois McMaster Bujolds' Miles Vorkosigan Series. I found it interesting - you might too. Please read other reviewers to see what they think. Everything isn't for everyone. It might or mightn't be for you. I like Sanderson, but I did not think he could be as good in YA as he is in his other works. I was wrong - very wrong. If you are like me and did not think he would be as good, believe me, you, too, might be very wrong. Good job Brandon! Keep 'em coming!

OK - I did not want to read this book - I typically hate young adult/children books. The story in this was actually quite good. This is truly a story for all audiences. It is funny, interesting, engaging, light-hearted, and all-around fun. I recommend it!
