I read "John Adams" by David McCullough before I listened to this book. Such a striking difference on the perspective of John Adams. Wood obviously does not think much of Adams, commenting that Adams was interested in his own importance, which is in stark contrast to other opinions. It was an interesting book, but colors the characters too much with his (Wood's) opinions.
I only bought this because it was the daily deal, but I was pleasantly surprised. An insightful book, laughed, cried and my heart goes out to teachers.
Love these stories - Mrs Pollifax is such an enjoyable character. Love Mrs. Pollifax's interaction with the teenagers - circa 1960's.
I love this series - they couldn't have picked a better narrator - Marsters is perfect.
Interesting book, but the comparison of the sleepwalker that killed his wife to the gambling housewife that lost everything was a bit far-fetched.
I laughed out loud. Just goes to show you that God has a sense of humor.
