A week's holiday in a luxurious hotel is just what Scotland Yard's Superintendent Duncan Kincaid needs. But his vacation ends dramatically with the discovery of a dead body in the whirlpool bath. Despite a suspicious lack of cooperation from the local constabulary, Kincaid's keen sense of duty won't allow him to ignore the heinous crime, impelling him to send for his enthusiastic young assistant, Sergeant Gemma James. But the stakes are raised significantly when a second murder occurs....

Would you consider the audio edition of A Share in Death to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print version so yes the audio version is better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Share in Death?

I always love it when it all pulls together in the end and you see all the clues so clearly. You think something isn't right from time to time but you don't always get it and I like when it all comes together.

What about Michael Deehy’s performance did you like?

I liked the way it was read The voice changed for different characters and the English accent was perfect. Easily understood and clear but the accent is a nice one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes, but wasn't able to.

    Any additional comments?

This is a nice listen with good characters, believable, and a methodical solve leading you to the somewhat exciting end.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

While there, they will be working with a small team to track down one of the masterminds behind the USS Cole bombing: a high-ranking Al Qaeda operative known as The Panther. Ruthless and elusive, he's wanted for multiple terrorist acts and murders - and the U.S. government is determined to bring him down, no matter the cost.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Panther to be better than the print version?

Scott Brick is a great reader! I did not read the print version so the audio version was wonderful for me to listen to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

John Corey because of his sarcastic nature and desire to complete the job assigned to him in the best way he can.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

He has the ability to change his voice for the different characters so the story is easy to follow and his reading is the best.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It gives insight to the middle east, I don't know how accurate the author was but I'm sure it was researched. I don't think we really understand the people of this culture and why they do what they do.
