"Raised really good questions"
This book has really made me think, and question why we do certain things in church. A must read for a thinking believer
"Amazing Personal Account - a real eye opener!"
This book gave a truly human perspective of the Westboro Baptist Church. It showed them from firsthand accounts to be a selfish, cruel, unbiblical, hateful, mean group of religious zealots. The religion of the WBC contains all of the pitfalls of Christianity when proper biblical interpretation is replaced by opinion and base human emotions. I was angry as I listened to this. I was cheering for Lauren Drain to be banished, because it was so terrible inside of the WBC. Give this book a try if you are at all interested in the pulse of American Religious life. A real eye opener.
"Fantastic Analysis of Each book!"
He goes book by book, explaining the biblical themes of each Chronicle of Narnia. He does a great job finding themes in each book and explaining how that theme applies to each character. Identity in The Horse and His Boy, Faith in Prince Caspian etc. It helped me appreciate the genius of CS Lewis even more!
"Appreciated idea, but disliked writing style"
No. Even though I love his enthusiasm, I do not like his writing style. He is a good speaker, but a weak writer.
"Sean Bean is simply the BEST"
I will listen to this multiple times. It was a short but solid overview of the stories of King Arthur and his Knights! Sean Bean brings the story to life!
He was Boromir, Odysseus and NEd Stark all over again! I bought the book simply because he narrated it, and I listened to it in one single drive! Great Narration!
"Eye opening and a must read for any FOOTBALL fan"
Luchs does a great job of analyzing every angle of the business of football. From the impact of agents, to college coaches, to mock drafts. It was so incredible. He mentions REAL NFL players and has a boat-load of stories about what certain players did for money, and what players refused money! Like Champ Bailey.
"Jerry Rice - the GOAT"
It was awesome to hear about the work ethic that made him into the top WR ever! I didn't realize that he was a man so focused on integrity and honesty.
"Great topic, dry book"
The book was wonderful, but not easy to listen too for long periods of time. It isn't so much of a story as a series of facts and mini anecdotes.
intelligent, un engaging, not colorful.
It was worth it. He was an amazing man.
"Total Enjoyment"
I loved how he tells stories, and it was both entertaining and insightful into what a sand-up comedian goes through
"Anne Hathaway is amazing!"
Anne Hathaway performs at least 9 unique and special character voices. It was so entertaining to listen to her voices! The story was wonderful. Pun intended
