Yes, the story is sad...but it is inspiring as well...no matter the hardships or environment...if a person has strong morals he/she can make it thru almost anything..
The maturation of Drizzt to see how evil his kinfolk are...
Great beginning to an awesome fantasy character, after reading/listening to this book...you will be ready to visit and experience the further adventures of Drizzt and friends (in the later novels) again and again...

The ending prologue...any more and I would give away the end of the novel.
When Mitch saved Anna Reilly from the Terrorist.
This is a good start to the Mitch Rapp series..this is the 2nd book I have read in the series..I started with Kill Shot the 11th or 12th novel in the series which is a prequel...that seemed to be a better story with more action..as with each good author...the stories get better the more he writes...and I am looking forward to more selections in this series.
The realism of the characters...the triumphs, the pitfalls...all of Kings writings have very good character development.
Dick Hallorann..his determination to get back to the Overlook Hotel was memorable and inspiring.
The differences he gave each of the characters to make them unique and you could easily tell them apart without their names being said...
Very good read from Stephen King...master of Horror...but be aware there is some domestic issues that maybe hard to swallow.
It is not better, both are great...each has it positives...I recommend reading it first...then listening to the audio version...I had read my print copy long ago...it was great to revisit it again and catch what I missed or forgot the first time thru....
The Distemper part...being a dog lover...hard but memorable part of the book.
Great novel...one of Koontz best...if you are a dog lover, horror/suspense book lover, or just want to hear a really great story...give this one a try...you won't be disappointed.
The cast of characters, and the overall terror provided by the CLOWN!!!!
The overall plot with small flashback plots inter-weaved into the story.
He ability to project the characters thoughts/feelings.
The dog getting poisoned was just...no good...
The simple story with a great cast of characters that takes me back to the first time I read this story.
The other books in the series, Tantras and Waterdeep. It continues the story of the main characters with good development and plot.
