I enjoyed the first book in the series and was annoyed that I had to wait several months for the second one. Well the wait was worth it!

The story begins with a year having passed since end of the last book. Sanderson deftly picks up where he left off, tying up loose ends and creating new twists.

Michael Kramer does an excellent job of giving voice to the characters and creating a tapestry of the final empire from the books pages in the listener's mind. Switching between voices and emotions while keeping a netural narrative tone where appropriate makes the second book as much a pleasure as the first to listen to.

Honestly there is nothing else that compares to legion, it is so unique it defies classification.

I loved the slight touches he gave each character - an accent here, a lisp there it really fleshed out the performance.

Definitely. This was the first David Weber fantasy novel I listened to as I am more familiar with his Sci Fi novels. However this was a fantastic novel that added some cool twists to the typical fantasy setting.

I loved the uniqueness of the world and how the author managed to touch on racism in society without beating your head over the head with it.

This was my first book performed by Nick Sullivan and I loved it. He has great vocal range and injects a lot of emotion into the work.

I am not going to ruin it but lets just say Bahzell has a unique relationship with his diety :)

Absolutely, the science fiction is excellent and the story is very well developed.

I absolutely hated Sventlana but at the same time she also was the most tangible character. As to favorite I really like Parry (her husband) he balanced the needs of crew against his own needs time again and really filled the role of mediator I just wish he had stood up to Svetlana more often.

I generally enjoy John Lee he is a solid voice actor who puts a lot of emotion into his voices. That said his range of voices is a bit limited (generally). In this case however he did a fantastic job.

Yes, when Svetlana broke her word to Bella I wanted to smash the iPhone against the wall.

Starts out a bit slow but once and some of the build up in the beginning is a bit confusing but it wraps up nicely.

While it does follow the standard fantasy formula Stormcaller puts some unique spins on the genre. First while the main the character is definitely the hero of the story for most of the story he is surrounded by people who loathe and mistrust him just for what he is not who he is. This lays the groundwork for a really rich character who is very multi-dimensional, at one moment the baddest solidier on the field and the next a young man doubting his own place in the world. That said I think I like the internal conflict the main character deals with throughout the story and seeing him develop through the book I am anxious for the next novel in the series.

I would say it mixes elements from Chronicles of Amber and Warhammer 40k. On the one hand the character really grows throughout the novel and on the other he given similar abilities and weaknesses enjoyed by the space marines (specifically the Sons of Fenris).

I really loved his ability to develop the scene he gave each character its own voice and really acted as though he were experiencing what the characters did. One of my favorite scenes was when he described a battle in which the main character lost himself to battlerage and you could here the concern in the supporting characters voices as well as the stress and rage in the main character's.

There were points I was pumping my hand up and down cheering for the main character as well as one scene where I nearly lost it (very emotional).

Wish Audible would let us know when the next one is coming out, would love to be able to subscribe to an alert for it.

I listened to this book while I was recovering from the flu and it was amazingly fun. John Ringo delivers the story in a way which is satisfying for the sci-fi enthusiast the gun geek and arm chair generals alike.

Combined with the masterful reading delivered by Marc Vietor. While I wish there could have been a bit more of range in the voices Marc Vietor did an awesome job of delivering the gruff battle toughened voice of the main character and the click-clack sounds of the "Tchpth".

While I wish I could say I saw the ending coming I did not, however it was immensely satisfying. The action pace combined with intrigue that was woven into the story definitely has me coming back for more!

Set in a not unrealistic future where violence and murder has been greatly reduced through education, government legislation and social engineering. Eve Dallas is a cop who gets the job done and does so by following the book.

During this case she meets a love interest which J.D. Robb intricately weaves into the plot of murder mystery. Two parts CSI/Law and Order with a dash of the Silk Stockings this is a great book for the beach, park or a long weekend because you will be riveted to it.

The narration by Susan Erikson is nearly flawless with a good range of accents, characterizations and an amazing range of emotional inflections. At one point in the reading she reads a scene where a female character is crying and a male character was consoling her and both were done flawlessly.

If I have one complaint the sex scenes in the book are a bit derivative and somewhat distracting from solving of the case. That being said it was an immensely satisfying listen and highly recommended.
