I truly enjoyed "A Discovery Of Witches", even though it was slow at times. "Shadow Of Night", however, never seems to slow. I am listening for the 2nd time now and feel as though I can literally see the story. The narrator is extremely talented and has made her mark in making the book come alive.
I truly love this series! I found myself wanting more and now find that I have to listen once again. Darynda Jones keeps me wanting more as I move through Charlie's life. I hope the next book arrives soon!
OK, all my neighbors think I am absolutely nuts. I listen to my audiobooks on my IPod with ear phones, so my neighbors are always hearing me burst out laughing for no apparent reason as I sit on my patio all alone. Worse, at one point while driving, I had to pull over cause I was laughing so hard.
These audio books should come with a warning about using heavy machinery while listening.
Jane, the main character, has to be one of the wittiest characters I have ever read! If she were real, I know we would be friends....of course I might have to start wearing Depends undergarments.
It really is a great series. If you have a southern mother/family, you will especially appreciate the character dynamics.
Cat and Bones are at it again, and though I like the book, it isn't my favorite of the series. the narration was excellent as always and without her, might not have kept my interest as well.
The story is awesome and it never slows down. I can't wait for the next "Vlad" chronicle. Just when I thought I liked Spade best!!
Last year, CH said this might be the last Sookie book. If it is, I'll have to find a witch to cast a horrible spell on her. The story was good, but the ending was far too ambiguous. In fact, I first thought I hadn't gotten the complete download and had to recheck that I had the end of the book.....getting a little sadistic leaving us hanging like that Ms. Harris.
As heartbreaking as the end was, I still love the whole series. I would have changed the ending, but then I am the eternal romantic. I hope Christopher Paolini writes more about Alagasia, although i would read pretty much anything he writes.
Don't fall asleep while listening or you'll have some crazy dreams, but listen for sure. Great characters, story line, and imagery.
This was an awesome book. I read it first and then got the audio book. The ending really left me hanging and I can hardly wait until the 2nd book comes out. I Deborah Harkness is definitely an author that I will continue to follow.
