From number-one New York Times best-selling authors Preston & Child, an all-new short story featuring Agent Pendergast, available only as an ebook and audio download. In New Orleans' French Quarter, the Tooth Fairy isn't a benevolent sprite who slips money under your pillow at night.... He's a mysterious old recluse who must be appeased with teeth - lest he extract retribution. When young Diogenes Pendergast loses a tooth, however, his skeptical older brother Aloysius is determined to put the legend to the test...with dire consequences.

Alright, we all are aware what this little appetizer is leading to...right to the grave, Two Graves that is. But hey, it's still Pendergast, along with pops, uncle and little brother to boot. The story is in my opinion a pretty blah Halloween piece amped up for those of us that have had some issues with dentists and/or sociopathic tooth obsessed neighbors. O.K. Mr. Preston and Mr.Child I think it's safe to say, it's main event time, "let's get ready to rum..."

Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.

    Story

In many audio stories the narrator plays a vital role in the telling and dramatic components, and in this one trick pony Mr. Jackson is a tour de force. Yes, this is a six minute children's book geared toward the naughty child in most of us adults especially those wonderful, loving parents almost turned into murderous mamas and deranged daddies trying without success to get junior to sleep. For those of us who are not on the prudish side when it comes to the employment of heinous and foul verbiage, I must say you are in for raucous laughter outbursts as Mr. Jackson tries fervently to get the precious one to sleep. But alas all one liners grow tired, and this one will be put to bed rather quickly. Ah, an idea for book number two...and that includes salary, stock options, and retirement benefits, NOW PLEASE BABYSIT MY FU&$ING KID!

Just another blimey, blabbering Brit eschewing on everything from mindless reality television, game show contestants and other droll topics of whimsical fancy. I profess to the difficulties of writers conjuring up novels filled with such imaginative storytelling and playful prose, enough that is to warrant a book deal and being lauded by the great Audible.com. Sadly, Mr. Ronson will not be on my holiday stocking stuffer to give or get lists this year...BLAH HUMBUG!!!

Although a simple story fom Mr. King this time out, this one had me thinking long after it ended. How could such a society endorse such barbaric competitions in which only 1 is granted the prize, his life. The other 99 boys will not be invited back for next years event. In this dystopian view of Americana turned on its heels, we see our young boys being cheered on by each community that the Long Walk passes through sorrow comes quickly for those boys who are unable to continue, sorrow and a bullet to the brain from the morose soldiers. Could this be one of those alternate realities, like if Hitler and Nazi Germany would have prevailed? Once again, thank you Mr. King for such an interesting story..

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

First of all, Mr. Johnson and his characterization, elegant prose and vivid metaphors of contemporary Wyoming/western is a reader's delight, similar to another artist of today's storytellers Mr. J.l. Burke and his passion for the Cajun Louisiana characters and culture. Safe to say that any reader would do well to grab themselves a cold one, a plate of crawfish and barbecue and turn up the volume on a Johnson or Burke audible player.

What did you like best about this story?

Walt Longmire is The Man peer ee ud!!!!! I think he comes closest to my all time overwestern figures and icons John Wayne. I found that Hell is Empty cemented Sheriff Longmire as a western super hero alongside The Duke. Qualifications for super hero: good guy devoted to eliminating evil, may bend but will not break, kicks all kinds of evil ass, yet maintains level of modesty, ladies swoon over super heroes, both good and bad, our super heroes all don uniforms, etc...PLEASE, feel free to add to this list.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

George is Walt Longmire...further, he is one of my top narrators. Mr. Guidall can do it all.

Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life. He was wrong. Now he’s trapped in a school that’s surrounded by a razor-wire fence. A school where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into groups in order to survive. Where breaking the rules equals death. But when Benson stumbles upon the school’s real secret, he realizes that playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than death, and that escape - his only real hope for survival - may be impossible.

What did you like best about this story?

Yet another story directed for young audiences, that I, an adult took a chance on, and I am glad I did. It appears that many of these stories today, apart from the Gone with the werewolf teenie romances, are smartly written with the thrills and surprises I like also including the Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Lockdown, etc.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

While listening to this laughable 70's disaster performance , I found myself yearning for the return of sensaround, and how about enhancing the whole experience by adding orgasmo 3d and introducing smell-o-listen. Complete sensory overload, hell yeah! Mr. Patterson is truly one of our generation's prolific and diverse authors. It seems that every month or two he is putting out another novel, with more than two ongoing series, novels directed at younger audiences and occasionally a stand alone piece like the Zoo. It is overly apparent That Zoo gets bogged down with Michael Moore-ism's: the animals aggression may be linked to global warming, plastic toxins, pollutants and mans dependence on the earth's energy usage and technological ignorance. Yep, and with all that you get our beloved beasts going nuts, having filth induced orgies and finally wanting to eat us.

Has Zoo turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No...this ain't Dr. Doolittle.

If you could sum up Aloha from Hell in three words, what would they be?

Insanely Hell-acious dudes!...this ain't your preacher writin' this Shiite. And this definitely is positively Not your mama's version of Lucifer's digs.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Aloha from Hell?

Every town has a Mustang Sally, and for Sandman Slim all it takes is a trip to one of the countless mini-marts where he stocks up on greasy burgers, chips, candy, donuts and smokes, of course...for Sally is not only the queen of the roadways, she is also Slim's ticket into hell...cost?...the road marts treats, and Slim bitin it on a messy James Dean head on...ouch!

Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews – was your favorite?

With a name like Sandman Slim, and burdened with an angel inside him, a roommate he has decapitated and a monster as a lover,hmmm...yeah it is definitely Mr. Slim.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Hey! Go to Hell...you just might like it.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

What did you like about this audiobook?

In the vast, mostly impressive volumes of work by Mr. King, I find it safe now to give the genre's arguably number 1 power hitter a few foul balls, and yes, even strikeouts. Whereas I struggled mightily getting through Dumass Key, I found Under the Dome to be another long ball by the Maine Masher. I don't mean to lose friends here, but can we please stop comparing new works to old classics, The Shining, The Stand, It, etc. Even those Yankees lose...occasionally.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

I have always been a sucker for end of days stories. One reviewer brought up the classic Earth Abides, one of those rare gems that gets its tentacles all over you for days, weeks, forever if you're like me. I found myself relating to the characters thoughts, actions, needs, and then I wanted more. Swan Song, The Road, The Taking, Without Warning further caught my attention by asking those two monumental words, what if ?

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Mr. Esparza's narration was well researched, fluid for such a diverse list of characters and easy on the ears, which is so very important when the story turns out to be 34 hours loooooong. In closing I want to say thanks to Mr. King for another fantastic villain, Jim Renner, and to Mr. Esparza for bringing him to life. I love a writer who takes the time developing the power hungry, controlling, fiendishly maladjusted villain. In Under the Dome, our bad guy Jim, finds opportunity knocking when the dome encases the city. We soon find out that our manipulative, politically mobile friend has issues. Seems Mr. Renner is in cahoots with other city council members in operating a methamphetamine lab, while also raising a teenage son, who also has issues...murder. I have to admit a guilty pleasure, in that I kept waiting ( and, ummm enjoying ) Mr. Esparza's masterful portrayal of Jim.
