I love all of Jennifer Crusie's books, but this one has to be my favorite. The way the characters interact with one another is so cute. I have listened to the book several times now. I thought the narrator was perfect. I cannot imagine reading the book and enjoying it as much as the audio version because of the narrator. A MUST BUY !!!
Having many relatives in the Richland Center area, I have spent much time there in my lifetime. I drive thru Spring Green to get there and have visited Taliesin (The House on The Rock). I wish I had read this book before ever going there the first time. The history of the house is amazing. The fact "why" it was built is a great story. This book shocks a person in so many ways. FLW does not come across as a very nice fellow, but if he had not been such an eccentric and a free-thinking man, he would not have become the great architect he was. Mamah was a feminist of her time, but how she "handled" Frank boggles the mind. She truly must have loved him deeply to tolerate his eccentricities. I intend to go back to Taliesin this summer, just to experience what Mamah and Frank felt while in that house. It has an all new meaning to me now. I LOVED this book! What a life they both had!
I LOVED THIS BOOK ! As one review stated, it reminds me of the Outlander series. I wonder how many noticed that Claire and James Fraser (from the Outlander series) were mentioned in "Into the Wilderness" story. I loved that little sneaky item. The story drags you into the story and you feel like you know each person personally. I vowed never to spend 2 credits on a book, but I am so glad that I did for this one......it was well worth it. I can't wait to continue on with the series. Thank you Sara Donati.........keep 'em coming !
GREAT, FUNNY, INTERESTING AND WONDERFUL READ ! Jennifer Crusie is a genius with writing humorous women stories. Best money I ever spent on audio books! A MUST READ!!
