This was an interesting story, and was good when you heard the interviews at the end, but in my opinion it was totally wrecked by the narrator. Not only was it read without passion, but it was blindingly obvious when he had taken breaks. To be honest I would have rather got an e-book and got my Mac to read it back to me.
I have to say that I am English so maybe I just don't get the US accent, but listen to Outlander read by Davina Porter and you will see what I mean. That takes you to a different place, this just annoyed me.

I agree with all the other reviewers on this one. There is one reason you might want to get this. It helps you get to sleep at night!

In truth the narration is great, bringing life into what is possibly the most disjointed and uninteresting story I have come across. Even the science history is poor. At one point it mentions he meets I think it was Newton as a boy, next minute he was recommending that someone reads his book.

The overdescription is just annoying too. The author seems to think that it is good if he can say something in a paragraph he could have said in a word! What actually happens is you know what he is rabbiting on about at the start of the paragraph but you have to wait for a minute or so to get some petty detail you don't want to know anyway.

Avoid this book like the plague....unless you have insomnia!

This is a good for small to medium business in some markets, but in others it is quite inappropriate in parts.

If you want to read this, what you should consider is that the authors are writing about their experience, and their experience is providing online services. That means no stock issues, ability to automatically supply at any time etc etc.

There are also a few parts that when you have been in business a while, you will see the obvious contradictions. My favourite was that you have to speak your mind and say if something is no good, but an earlier comment was avoid office politics at all costs. Now there's a contradiction. Telling someone there project is to be canned means that egos will be bruised and you will have to enter into office politics or they will quickly leave!

Another small company centric point was, trying out potential employees by giving them a short term contract. If you work in a large company, the job is often not contractable, so there is no way you could do this.

As I say, and interesting read, but you need to consider who the authors are, and where their experience in business comes from.

I just love this series. What more can I say.
Just one thing....Audible bring us the Fiery Cross and a breath of Snow and Ashes unabridged and narrated by Davina Porter. Not the dodgy abridged version.

I gave this book 4 stars as it is up to the same high standards as the others in the series. I think it does lose a bit when the daughters boyfriend becomes a bit 'macho', but that's about all.
I finished this book with a lot of sadness though as the next in the series is both abridged and not read by Davina Porter. I'm afraid I am going to have to read it so that I get the same voices in my mind.

The writing is good, the narration is awesome. I totally feel for the characters. Get the series. It will take you a while to get through but it is definitely worth it.

I heard about this book via the TWiT podcast and thought it would be interesting. I'm not sure whether it was the narrator but I think I slept through most of it...and was glad I did.
