"If you don't laugh and cry you weren't listening."
Beautiful, Difficult Life
One more thing, one more time. (1MT,1MT)
Found Josh through youtube and decided I really wanted to listen to the whole of his story. Josh is an amazingly open guy and his story has the feel of being told through whatever age he is at during that part. Good humor and a lot of richly recreated life moments. Some very deep stuff from cancer to learning how to deal with and overcome failure. I love that Josh doesn't sugar coat some of the things in his life because it gives the overall book a much better and realistic.. and therefore more meaningful, taste.
"The Most Compelling & Engaging Yet!"
Dr. Henry Cloud goes into the psychology of why we often put off ending things that are holding us back or even hurting us in some way.
This book is very thorough in it’s approach. It covers how to narrow down if something should be encouraged to try again or stopped. It also explains the hurt we feel about that change, the many reasons behind it and how to address those blocks in our path to a better life.
If you’re even suspicious that you might be putting some things off that need to be done, read this book. Not only will it give you encouragement and methods on how to make that ending possible and less painful, but it also supplies many examples of how well things go when the ‘dead weight’ has been removed.
"YES YES YES!"
One of the best most encouraging self-development books I’ve read in a long time. (And that’s saying something given how many books I read!)
Zig Ziglar, need I say more?
Ok how about this: This book is a culmination of the 30day talks Zig gave for years also called Born to Win. In it he talks about all of the things needed to become successful in life. There is the classic 7-Spoked Wheel of Life as well as his phrase: You were born to win, but you must plan to win and prepare to win before you can expect to win.
Considering Zig has been an authority on personal development and success since before I was born, I’m thinking he might have a few things worth listening to. It’s probably a sign of how encouraging and impactful this book was that, as soon as it was over, I started it over again.
Not only is this book uplifting, but it also give practical actionable steps towards improving your life. For those who are just interested in business development books – READ THIS TOO! At the end of the book, there is a special chapter on how to apply all the lessons Zig talks about to business life.
"A Favorite New Book!"
Absolutely! I've already recommended it to several members of my family. They love building their minds but struggle at keeping their bodies in shape. The idea of both being links might just be the boost they need!
A high octane boost of energy like Seth Godin or Dave Ramsey mixed with the grounded facts and science of someone like Jim Collins.
I never felt like he was droning. His intonations were spot on for the content.
Build Brains By Building Your Body!
This book has helped me not only get back into fitness, but STAY back in fitness.
"One of my new favs!"
Vital Business Info
Emphasis and energy
No, too much information!
Loved this book, absolutely brilliantly rounds up Built to Last and From Good to Great by answering many of the questions that existed after those two books. Love that this is all based on very rigorous research and debate. Especially that the book doesn't SOUND like a research paper, despite the massive amount of info backing it up. Engaging and a recommended read for anyone - doubly so if you run a business!
"Weird"
Craig sticks to his guns and has meaningful messages, but there are some parts of that message I don't much approve of. About the last two hours pretty much turned me off to the whole thing. Before that, there's a powerful message, after that his extreme ideals come to full view.
"Stunning & Engaging"
I don't think I've enjoyed a story or reader yet that is as engaging and "In the Momemt" as L.A. Meyer's Jack series read by Katherine Kellgren. Once again I feel like I am there, beside Jack the whole way, rather than reading what will surely become another account of her adventurers.
"Laughed, Cried, Enjoyed Every Minute!"
Another splendid rendition both by narrator and auther. Wonderful characters, memorable voice acting. I liked how this one evolved Jamie a little bit more.
And who can't like Fink?
"Still Excellent, If Dark"
Not the jaguar of L.A. Meyer's series but certainly a top notch breed of it's own. An interesting twist I never expected, a wonderful refocus on the evolution not just of Jackie but of her classmates. I can't wait for the next book! Kellgren as always a treat of a narrator. (Could there be a more perfect lady for this role?)
"Jackie (And Series) Spectacular!"
Love the entire series but I'm going to take this book to note just how wonderful a narrator Miss Kellgren is. Her energy, dynamic voice acting, and wonderful singing voice pull you into the story. You won't want to put this 'Book' down!
