For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

    D. S. Smith says: "How the Bloggess almost made me crash my car!"
    "Not Enjoyable!"

In Dad is Fat, stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who’s best known for his legendary riffs on Hot Pockets, bacon, manatees, and McDonald's, expresses all the joys and horrors of life with five young children - everything from cousins ("celebrities for little kids") to toddlers’ communication skills ("they always sound like they have traveled by horseback for hours to deliver important news"), to the eating habits of four-year-olds ("there is no difference between a four-year-old eating a taco and throwing a taco on the floor").

Sean says: "Good for Gaffigan fans - better for expecting dads"
    "Couldn't Finish Listening ..."

What was most disappointing about Jim Gaffigan’s story?

There's nothing remarkable about this ... there are a lot of Dads out there.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jim Gaffigan’s performances?

    probably not..

This true modern masterpiece is built around the two fateful words that make up the title and herald the end - “Alas, Babylon.” When a nuclear holocaust ravages the United States, a thousand years of civilization are stripped away overnight, and tens of millions of people are killed instantly. But for one small town in Florida, miraculously spared, the struggle is just beginning, as men and women of all backgrounds join together to confront the darkness....

Would you consider the audio edition of Alas, Babylon to be better than the print version?

I loved this audio book! It combined a really interesting idea - nuclear war, with great characters and a love story! Also, the narration is great!

I think the narrator was good but I wasn't super into the story ... I don't think this is the best audio book. It would be better to read.

In the wild, when a wolf knows its time is over, when it knows it is of no more use to its pack, it may sometimes choose to slip away. Dying apart from its family, it stays proud and true to its nature. Humans aren’t so lucky. Luke Warren has spent his life researching wolves. He has written about them, studied their habits intensively, and even lived with them for extended periods of time.

Elle in the Great NorthWest says: "Typical Jodi Picoult plot, chik lit but good"

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Each chapter in this book is written from the perspective of a different charecter and there is a different narrator reading for each charecter. I really liked that!

    Any additional comments?

This book kept me interested all the way through and the narration was great!
