Ethan was abducted from his front yard when he was just seven years old. Now, at 16, he has returned to his family. It’s a miracle… at first. Then the tensions start to build. His reintroduction to his old life isn’t going smoothly, and his family is tearing apart all over again. If only Ethan could remember something, anything, about his life before, he’d be able to put the pieces back together....

It was an interesting story, but I would have liked it to be a little longer so that the characters could be further developed.

Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Definitely an enjoyable book. Not the most original thing I've ever read but still well worth reading. He has some interesting ideas that enhance enjoyment of the book and Kate Mulgrew's narration is fantastic. I would probably try almost anything that she narrates.

This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

There is little I can say about this book. It is, by far, the best Of Stephen King's huge body of work and, I would argue, one of the great American novels. Despite the length, I have read it many times. Grover Gardner's performance was excellent and did the book justice.

After a tumultuous year in New York City, the Austins are spending the summer on the small island where their grandfather lives. He's very sick, and watching his condition deteriorate as the summer passes is almost more than Vicky can bear. To complicate matters, she finds herself as the center of attention for three very different boys.

I read the Austin books when I was a kid and now I am listening to them with my 10-year-old. They are as good now as I remember. I love Maggie-Meg Reed's narration. She has truly become the voice of Vicky Austin to my daughter and me.

Frank W. Abagnale was one of the most daring conmen, forgers, imposters, and escape artists in history. In his brief but notorious criminal career, Abagnale donned a pilot's uniform and copiloted a Pan Am jet, masqueraded as the supervising resident of a hospital, practiced law without a license, passed himself off as a college sociology professor, and cashed over $2.5 million in forged checks, all before he was 21. His story is now a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.

Sadly, the real story is not nearly as interesting as the version in the movie. I wish I had read this before seeing the movie.

A comet the color of blood and flame cuts across the sky. And from the ancient citadel of Dragonstone to the forbidding shores of Winterfell, chaos reigns. Six factions struggle for control of a divided land and the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, preparing to stake their claims through tempest, turmoil, and war.

Roy Dotrice's performance is top-notch, but the story is one step down from the first book in the series. The story can sometimes be a little hard to follow, especially with the characters who are far from the main action (Daenerys and Jon in particular).

I have a definite love-hate relationship with George R R Martin. He likes to shock the reader, which makes for an exciting story, but sometimes, well, I'll just say, never get too attached to any character.

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Would you try another book from E. L. James and/or Becca Battoe?

This is the most useless book I ever tried to listen to. The characters are inane and boring. The story is non-existent. Sorry, but even the sex scenes get boring after a while. I kept trying to finish the book, but finally decided that I didn't even care how it ended. I know there were a lot of complaints about the narrator. Her voice was annoying (the update was an improvement), but a better narrator would not have made this book more interesting. I will avoid other works by this author.

Would you ever listen to anything by E. L. James again?

    Never

Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?

    Maybe

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not that I can think of
