On Christmas Day in 1893, every man, woman and child in a remote mining town will disappear, belongings forsaken, meals left to freeze in vacant cabins, and not a single bone will be found - not even the gold that was rumored to have been the pride of this town. One hundred and thirteen years later, two backcountry guides are hired by a leading history professor and his journalist daughter to lead them into the abandoned mining town so they can learn what happened.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No I would not I did not find it kept my attention.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The piano player but I don't remember her name. She had a story to tell and it was told all through the book in separate pieces.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

    Preacher

Could you see Abandon being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

OH Lord that's not a fair question since it wasn't my cup of tea. I think it would be awfully hard though with the way he goes back and forth from time periods. Characters yuc can't even imagine. I didn't even like the heroine that much.

    Any additional comments?

It just wasn't for me, I am not saying it's a bad book or story, I just did not find it appealing. However you may love it, Would I listen to another book by him? Yes I would, just because I don't like one doesn't mean another won't be fantastic! The author has talent and I thank him for the story.

Would you consider the audio edition of Seduced by Moonlight to be better than the print version?

Not really, I have not made it all the way through the book but the discrepancies between the two are many more than I have ran across in any of her other books. Number one the narrator is now pronouncing the names differently than she did in the first two audio books and it really throws you off. Number two the book reads four months the audio says three months., and there are quite a few more, that one just took my attention away from the story and caused me to read and listen to it over again. Perhaps it's just me but by the time i have invested two books into the series the names are set in my mind and having them switched on me in book three just sucks it makes me feel dizzy because I have to make sure I am thinking of the right character. The new pronunciation is very unsettling. Either the narrator should have made sure she was pronouncing the names correctly before recording the first book or should have just read the names as she was doing them. It is very unsettling because the story is great and to have to watch the words carefully and relearn names and people is just crappy.

What other book might you compare Seduced by Moonlight to and why?

Her other series with Anita Blake is a bit like it but I really like this better. Anita is kind of like a flop ho with no reason for screwing everything with legs, at least with this story line there is a purpose to screw everyone.

What three words best describe Laural Merlington’s performance?

I think it is hard for her to do so many masculine voices but she does fairly well with the main characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Sidhe steps to the throne.

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, doesn’t care much for witches. Still, he’s about to make nice with the local coven by signing a mutually beneficial nonaggression treaty when suddenly the witch population in modern-day Tempe, Arizona, quadruples overnight. And the new girls are not just bad, they’re badasses with a dark history on the German side of World War II. With a fallen angel feasting on local high school students, a horde of Bacchants blowing in from Vegas, and a dangerously sexy Celtic goddess of fire vying for his attention, Atticus is having trouble scheduling the witch hunt.

Would you listen to Hexed again? Why?

Of course I have a thing for Oberon : )

What did you like best about this story?

I like him getting involved with the other God's How ever I liked him and the eldery woman in the flesh scene.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I am not sure if I have or not but I truly love his way of engulfing the mannerisms and the easiness he uses with this character. He seems to become the character, he's great.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but then again I am truly taken with this series even if this is only the second book I could have a druid fest weekend and listen to them one after the other without wanting to stop.

    Any additional comments?

I never get one book without being sure I have enough to take me to the next payday when I can get another one lol. I enjoy these immensely.

Didn't read the print version but I can zone out much better with headphones and my kindle then if I am just reading a book when family happens to be around it's a better and a greater way to listen intently.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Macrieve of course than his brother very good flow there in the conversations.

What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?

I loved the fact that the voice was very husky and old world just like it should have been he did a fantastic job!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Hmmm well when I first started reading it I thought oh same ole stuff but as I listened more the turn in it was great and caught my attention. The biggest reaction I had was wishing she had the next story already and wishing I could get all her previous of the Immortals on Audible.

    Any additional comments?

Great story I am never disappointed by her books. I have yet to read one that I do not like great job....write faster LOL

Some zombies are raised. Others must be put down. Just ask Anita Blake. Before now, she would have considered them merely off-putting, never dangerous. Before now, she had never heard of any of them causing human beings to perish in agony. But that’s all changed. Micah's estranged father lies dying, rotting away inside from some strange ailment that has his doctors whispering about "zombie disease". Anita makes her living off of zombies - but these aren’t the kind she knows so well. These creatures hunt in daylight, and are as fast and strong as vampires.

What did you love best about Affliction?

That we got to know Micah better although it still seems to me Micah and Nathaniel have more love going on than Anita and Micah.

What other book might you compare Affliction to and why?

Any of her previous way back novels when she didn't always know who it was causing the problem and exactly what to do about it.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Any scene with Wicked and Truth sorry they are just like the Vampire pair to dream about lol.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really an extreme reaction but I am kind of thinking she needs to calm down on the BDSM play because she doesn't really make it sound like she knows what she is talking about in that area, or perhaps she has not figured out how to explain the feelings very well of pain turning into pleasure but it just strikes me as very book learned.

    Any additional comments?

Well with her being sick all the time I kind of thought they were going to try and have her become pregnant. Hey I know she could go on Maury for who's your baby daddy lol. Seriously though I am a true fan and will be waiting for the next book, really hate these shadow characters and hope we don't have whole stories written around Jade and Dev there are to many people in this series and I really don't care about adding two more to memory.

the Narrator got a lot of the voices mixed up as to who she was supposed to be a lot and I could hear a bit of background noise. Could tell when she took a break and came back. It just wasn't very smooth this time.

Would you listen to The Iron King again? Why?

Yes I would this is in fact going in my "CLASSICS" so that I can listen to it over and over. I love the freshness of the story and the way there was always something new around every corner. I like the fact that the characters were brought about and we were always discovering more about each one. Love the bit of the fae lore that you can glean from this first book and it was just something I could and will listen to again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Iron King?

    The dance with Ash.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Where Ash told her he may have to kill her if his queen wishes it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no I did not cry but it made me go straight to amazon and download the next book the minute I finished this one and be thrilled I could get the whisper sync with it.

    Any additional comments?

I love it and I will check out the books for adults too lol but I am really enjoying the young adult right now.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Iron Queen to be better than the print version?

I can't say better, there are times when I can imagine the voices of the characters to my liking and time when the narrator just doesn't hit the mark then I prefer reading the book myself. I do love the audio books though because they help me to relax and calm down before bed I guess like an adult bedtime story.

What did you like best about this story?

I think it would have to be all the aspects and how they came together. I loved the way the characters fit together and I loved the ending very unexpected ending great formula for the whole book.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The end about the last 12 minutes I think. Don't want to say more incase you haven't read it I hate spoilers.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Who will win Winter, Summer or Iron

I love this whole series and will probably read more by the author.

Where does Lover at Last rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is right at the top. It helps that it is in a series that I have listened to or read with baited breath but this book had promised something that is not often broached in books that I read a relationship between to male characters which I had come to love during my reading of the series. Being a Christian this is a subject I am to be truly against and for myself I would be truly against a same sex partner that being said I had a brother who was (I really hate the term homosexual I think it sounds perverted and I myself prefer to say Gay as it means happy to me so I will use that term) sorry for not being politically correct he was Gay he studied every religion was very well educated and was pushed away from my family for his choice. I was very young and could not make the decision to tell my family to kiss my ass but he and I remained close in spirit. Listening to this book I can only pray that he had someone to share these beautiful moments with I did not find them gross or vulgar I found them human and loving. I enjoyed hearing about how each of them felt and what they felt and I am sure my brother knew GOD and in my heart I am sure he is with him now if I am wrong GOD will correct me I need no man to do it. It is a beautifully written book about feelings and love and deserves being judged on that alone. I LOVE you Richard will be with you before you know it.

What other book might you compare Lover at Last to and why?

I have no other books to compare that AI can think of right now I just finished reading it at 4 this morning and it is still fresh in my memory and think it will always be fresh for what it has meant to me. For me there is no comparison only hope that my brother found that kind of love here on earth.

Which character – as performed by Jim Frangione – was your favorite?

I think it would be butch loved the accent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me think and pray and dare to hope that someone I lost at the age of 6 had love in his life other than the distant love I had in my heart for him and that all of his life was not the beatings from pigs who didn't like the way he looked. It made me believe that his kind of love was just as important and deeply felt as heterosexual love is. It opened my eyes to thew fear people have of feelings unknown.

    Any additional comments?

What a wonderful book, What a wonderful long awaited story and what a beautiful ending, no one could ask for better thank you Miss Ward.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book not only to my friends but family also. In fact I will probably buy it to keep a hard copy to lend out. Where to start how about the narrator, he was fantastic the main character was very smooth and level headed which is not something I think I could have pulled off but I have to admit it was not the main character that I fell in love with but it was Oberon. What I would not give to be able to talk with Oberon daily.
This book is so refreshing not horror, but imagination and fun absolute fun! Wow I just finished it and I am not sure how to explain it to you except to say, Wow. Great book can't wait to read more by this author and what a great ending. It's great give it a try you won't be sorry and may even laugh a little.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hounded?

Everything that Oberon said and did but mainly the very end when Oberon gets what he deserves!

What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?

His voice was just very well fitting for all the characters and of course dare I say it again....Oberon I just smile when I think of the voice he used for him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did not think it would be but it ended up pretty much being that way I started late on Thursday and have ended it late Friday.

I just can't explain it but truthfully I may listen to it again I enjoyed it that much. Thank you to both Kevin Hearne for writing it and Luke Daniels for making me smile when I think of well you know who I am not going to say it again lol.

I think it was simply the whole story, how it is easy to see yourself in the character when you learned what real love was about and how to differentiate from deep love for a friend.

What did you like best about this story?

The way "Vampire" wouldn't give up and I loved having Lothaire make an appearence.....I could really do with out his so called mate though LOL.

    "The Vampire"

I liked the sarcasm and the bits of comedy in the story it made it much more real and thewhole book was moving one way or another.
