Egyptologist Daniel Knox's lifelong fascination with Alexander the Great and his tomb, a fabled wonder of the ancient world, could be the death of him. After construction workers excavating in Alexandria expose a catacomb dating back to ancient times, Knox eagerly sneaks in to scout the cavernous and dusty site. Among the relics he finds clues that may solve one of the world's greatest mysteries: the last resting place of Alexander the Great.

I wasn't expecting a lot from this one for some reason and just wanted something different after doing te Ender's Game Trilogy. This was a pleasant surprise. Great Historical backstory, good character's and well read. I will purchase more will adams in the future.

If you like Clive Cussler because of the historical aspects more than the action itself, you will like this book. It has action, but more history. I actually learned a lot about macedonia that I did not know.

    Definitely recommend.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

I decided to give EG a try and was amazed how solid the story was. You are rooting for Ender from the get go and I found myself amazed that I had never heard of Ender prior to looking for something new on Audible. It has something for everyone, it's action packed while being introspective.

If there was one audibook that I would recommend to someone, this would be it.

Xenocide is the third installment of the Ender series. On Lusitania, Ender found a world where humans and pequeninos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought. But Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus which kills all humans it infects, but which the pequeninos require in order to transform into adults.

By far more a philisphicol book than Speaker and obviously way more than Ender's Game.
I actually skipped several chapters and felt like I didn't miss much. I suggest hiring asian actors for the asian roles, the accents were tough to listen to and the voice of the Hive was just weird (almost silly).

A good conclusion to the trilogy, but continues the departure from action as Speaker did when compared to EG. But it was worth it to know what happened to good old Ender.

In the aftermath of his terrible war, Ender Wiggin disappeared, and a powerful voice arose: the Speaker for the Dead, who told the true story of the Bugger War. Now, long years later, a second alien race has been discovered by Portuguese colonists on the planet Lusitania. But again the aliens' ways are strange and frightening...again, humans die. And it is only the Speaker for the Dead, who is also Ender Wiggin the Xenocide, who has the courage to confront the mystery...and the truth.

It's more introspective than ender's game. It's not the "action" story that EG is, however it moves a long well and Card does a great job with the characters. I enjoy the reader who does Ender, but they need some more variation with the female roles.

Story is good, but if you like EG for the action you are not going to get it in Speaker.

In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

Martin does a great job of developing characters at a timely pace and not getting bogged down in particular storylines. Great pace. Dotrice is awesome. I put off listening for several months not sure of enduring the length. But it is a no brainer purchase.
