I tried. I really did to listen to this one but it just drug on and on with the god of this and the god of that being prayed to. Basically the character Juniper McKenzie ruined this one for me. I really wish SM Stirling had not put so much emphasis on this character and her role in this new world. If I could just edit her out I would give this one four stars. So no, I couldn't finish this one. As much as I tried and wanted to I just couldn't do it.
This story is just the kind of escape that I would expect from Jimmy Buffett. I enjoyed the story line and the way it was written in first person. When you are ready to escape and hear a story about a lifestyle many of us can only dream about then read (listen) to this book.
This book is easy to listen to and keeps your attention. I felt that the author did a great job keeping the story up even though the location was so confined. It really breaks down how the human race acts when confined for long periods of time. I enjoyed this book.
I enjoyed this book very much. The narrator did a great job and the story was well told. I can see why this book is on so many reading lists for high school literature classes. This is a modern classic, that is for sure.
I enjoyed this book. I thought it had a good flow to it and the plot was well thought out. The only time it would lose my attention was when it would carry on and on about all the different gods that they would pray to.
It's a dark tale and you cannot help but really feel sorry for the plights of the characters. The tale captivated me because its so well written and since I loved Pillars of the Earth I knew I would enjoy it.
The author did a great job of letting you know the characters and building this story. The clincher was how well he brought it all together in the end. Yes it has it's dark moments but they only add to the story.
This one has it all. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved it!!
The title and publishers summary about this book are completely wrong. It's more a story about two bloggers who are grown up and still live with Mommy and Daddy. The zombies are just something that is going on. I really wish I had not listened to this one because it was more fun to think about he idea of the story than to listen to it.
I enjoyed how the story began but as it went on it felt like he author ran out of ideas. I wanted to like the book but the way it turned toward the end left disappointed. I think I could have been so much better.
