In 2009 Eloisa James took a leap that many people dream about: She sold her house, took a sabbatical from her job, and moved her family to Paris. Paris in Love: A Memoir chronicles her joyful year in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With no classes to teach, no committee meetings to attend, no lawn to mow, Eloisa revels in the ordinary pleasures of life - discovering corner museums that tourists overlook, chronicling Frenchwomen’s sartorial triumphs, walking from one end of Paris to another.

What made the experience of listening to Paris in Love the most enjoyable?

I guess I was looking for a "How to" book on how to move to Paris (in my dreams) but this is anecdotes about life in Paris without any "nuts and bolts" information but I still enjoyed it.

It's time for Blue Plum's annual historical festival, and everyone-including Kath and her spunky fiber and needlework group, TGIF-is getting in on the action. Expert spinners are being gathered, and a businessman has approached Kath about using the second-floor windows of her store for part of a reenactment. But the reenactment ends in real-life bloodshed when local baker Reva Louise Snapp is shot-with a bullet from a modern-day gun.

I have followed Molly MacRae's "Haunted Yarn Shop" mysteries from the beginning. This is my first foray into "cozy mysteries" but I have become a fan. I look forward to every new installment.

Harper Lee’s Pulitzer prize-winning masterwork of honor and injustice in the deep south - and the heroism of one man in the face of blind and violent hatred, available now for the first time as a digital audiobook. One of the best-loved stories of all time, To Kill a Mockingbird has been translated into more than 40 languages, sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, served as the basis for an enormously popular motion picture, and was voted one of the best novels of the 20th century by librarians across the country.

Sissy Spacek gave this book the narration it deserves. She brought this classic American Novel to life. Writing reviews is not my strong suit but this audio book is highly recommended.

In this lyrical, unsentimental, and compelling memoir, the son of a black African father and a white American mother searches for a workable meaning to his life as a black American. It begins in New York, where Barack Obama learns that his father, a figure he knows more as a myth than as a man, has been killed in a car accident.

What did you love best about Dreams from My Father?

This really shows the President as a real person. I wish everyone in Congress would listen to this audiobook and be able to see the President in the context of his ordinary life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Since it's nonfiction I wouldn't call anyone a "character" but it was nice to learn about Barack's siblings I had not known anything about.

Which character – as performed by Barack Obama – was your favorite?

Talk about performance! Barack does a really convincing Kenyan accent when quoting his relatives not to mention he works in some phrases we've never heard uttered by a president before!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    "Learn the truth"

    Any additional comments?

Please consider listening to this book. It's very worthwhile.

Rachel Maddow's Drift argues that we've drifted away from America's original ideals and become a nation weirdly at peace with perpetual war, with all the financial and human costs that entails. Sensible yet provocative, dead serious yet seriously funny, Drift will reinvigorate a "loud and jangly" political debate about how, when, and where to apply America's strength and power - and who gets to make those decisions.

Take one look at Kevin Smith: He's a balding fatty who wears a size XXL hockey jersey, shorts, and slippers year-round. Not a likely source for life advice. But take a second look at Kevin Smith: He changed filmmaking forever when he was twenty-four with the release of Clerks, and since then has gone on to make nine more profitable movies, runs his own production company, wrote a best-selling graphic novel, and has a beautiful wife and kids. So he must be doing something right.

Official Book Club Selection is Kathy Griffin unplugged, uncensored, and unafraid to dish about what really happens on the road, away from the cameras, and at the star party after the show. Maybe. I don't usually read this kind of Novel. Someone I know had started it and didn't care for it but when she told me the story I wanted to hear how it ended. There are holes in the story you could drive a tuck through but overall I found it an entertaining book.
