Firedrake, a young dragon, receives a frightening warning one night: Humans are planning to destroy the valley in which he lives! All the dragons must flee. Their only refuge is a place above the clouds called the Rim of Heaven, which may not even exist.

    Enid says: "EXCELLENT!!!"
    "Brendan Fraser stuns and wows!"

Would you listen to Dragon Rider again? Why?

This is a fabulous story full of fun entertaining characters. I will listen to this story over and over again. Brendan Frasers's performance is the main reason for this. He is underused in Hollywood. I was amazed at his ability to perform the voices and accents and sound effects. He made the whole story come alive for me. I have resisted reading it as it bored me once, but listening made me agree with my 10 year old daughter. YES this is A GREAT BOOK! Try it not only for the story, but to enjoy a very gifted actor who should read more children's fiction.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dragon Rider?

The release of the dragons by the mountain dwarf is a fabulous moment. Simple and sweet.

    Which scene was your favorite?

We love the part when the moon turned dark and the dragon had to land on a sea serpent in the middle of the ocean.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene involving Twigleg's confession made me ache for his character's change of heart.

    Any additional comments?

I would never hesitate to download a book with Brendan Fraser reading it or Cornelia Funke writing it.
