Maberry has a fun, playful style of writing that manages to keep me wanting to hear more and more. Ledger is such a an unrealistic character that he almost becomes surreal in the story. Maberry has managed to keep Ledger and echo team fresh and interesting from Patient Zero through Assassin's Code through cleaver writing and Ledgers pizzazz sense of humor.
I enjoy Ray Porter's reading style for these military style fiction books. I wonder why he does not partake in more of these types of books.
Thank you for the ride Jonathan Maberry!
Beyond exile is a continuation to Day by Day Armageddon. It kept me interested and wanting to hear what would happen next. It did get a little too mental sometimes in that it would get too engrossed in character thought process. With that, I do look forward to book 3.
Dunno, I have not read this book.
Craig Dilouie's Tooth and Nail comes to mind. They both had a military spin with the infected dining on the non infected. Thunder and ashes is a true zombie book as the walking dead are within where tooth and nail has infected folks running around chomping on the non infected.
This book was equally as fun as book 1. I am looking forward to book 3.
Pure zombie goodness.
Brewster is easily my favorite character. He is simply folk with a good head on his shoulders.
This is a very good zombie thriller with solid characters and good plot dev.
Balanced gore fest
Really? It's a zombie book!
No, but I don't want to listen to any book in one sitting. I still enjoyed listening.
This was my third Craig Dilouie book and I have enjoyed all of them thoroughly. I may have to try a Dilouie no zombie book next.
I really enjoyed the dairy style read of this book. I gave the impression of being on scene with the character.
There was only one character since the story is read in first person dairy style. Everyone is background.
I think he did well as reading in military jargon, however, I'm partial to that style.
The reader balanced the gore and lighter side of the story well.
Very fun audio book. Can't wait the read the rest of the series.
The main character never seemed to grow until the last 25% of the book. The mantra never improved either. I wanted to enjoy this book because I enjoyed the previous books so much, however, it felt like Friday the 13th part 5....more of the same. It felt like the author rushed the book through.
Yes, because I enjoyed all Zombie Fallouts except this one. I finished it because I wanted closure on the series.
Noreastern twang indeed!
I would but that means nothing regarding quality. I see ALL zombie movies.
Thanks for the ride!
The book may be slightly better than the audio mostly because the reader tends to make the strong women sound somewhat weak. This detracts from the overall strength of the survivors in the book. Otherwise, the audio version is decent.
I like the camaraderie of the survivors and the scary infected. They really are scary without the gory detail. Well done.
Overall, I enjoyed the tone of the reader with the exception of his approach towards the female leadership. They appear to be weak and uninteresting due to his tone.
Fun book. Well done.
