Across the country women are being murdered by a killer who leaves no evidence, no fatal wounds, no signs of struggle, and no clues to a motive. They are, truly, perfect crimes. In fact, the only thing that links the victims is the man they all knew: Jack Reacher.

What would have made Running Blind better?

Not as enjoyable as the other Jack Reacher Series books that I've heard. Main story idea was fine. The FBI characters were written and portraied as obnoxious and stupid. That, and the overall narration, were strong distraction as I lisened.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I'll probably continue with the Jack Reacher Series until I tire.

Have you listened to any of Jonathan McClain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is a McClain narration. I did not care for his performance.

What character would you cut from Running Blind?

Make the law enforcement characters seem more professional.

    Any additional comments?

    No.

When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Believable characters, dialogue and story are needed before I could enjoy this book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I'm always hoping for another book in the Jack Reacher, Harry Bosch or John Corey Series.

What three words best describe Ray Porter’s voice?

The Narrator did a fine job enabling the listener to distinguish one character from another.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Some might enjoy the book being made into a comic book movie.

    Any additional comments?

This author is now one that I am going to avoid.

Former SEAL Michael Harmon, Team Name ''Ghost'', retired for service injuries, is not enjoying college life. But things are about to change, if not for the better. When he sees a kidnapping, a series of, at the time logical, decisions leave him shot to ribbons and battling a battalion of Syrian commandos with only the help of three naked co-eds who answer to the names ''Bambi,'' ''Thumper'' and ''Cotton Tail.'

What would have made Ghost better?

The perceived attempt by the author to stereotype conservatives as having minds like his “hero” was deplorable. Classifying this novel as either a "trashy sex novel”, or as an “action adventure” would have been difficult.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Not John Ringo.

What aspect of Jeremy Arthur’s performance would you have changed?

Arthur did a fine job conveying the ego of the "Hero" and the author's feelings regarding his female characters. Expecting the President or top officials to talk in the manner the way in which they did was probably not the Narrator's fault.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The basic action plot had potential.

    Any additional comments?

There are many "Action Heroes" that have admirable qualities. Try authors like Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Lee Child, Ben Cose, Nelson DeMille, Dalton Fury, Mark Greeney, and Dick Wolf.

The President of the United States is fed up and, as Commander in Chief, has what he thinks is a pretty bright idea — to get hold of Colonel Charley Castillo and his merry band and get them on the case. Unfortunately, that will be difficult. Everybody knows that the President hates Castillo’s guts, and has just had him forcibly retired from the military, and now Castillo’s men are scattered far and wide, many of them in hiding.

What disappointed you about Hazardous Duty?

A slow, dismal reiteration of the earlier books of the Presidential Agent Series. The attempt to provide a comedic dialog to the non-action story is disappointing.

What could W.E.B. Griffin and William E. Butterworth have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Deep six his first draft, and change his strategy to his usual of swank dining and hotels, jet setting between South America and Europe, consumption of alcohol, and

What three words best describe Dick Hill’s performance?

Dick Hill's performance is the best thing concerning this book.

Not my kind of humor. Instead of providing few chuckles, I kept thinking boring and stupid.

An abundance of interesting characters and locales, woven into story with few opportunities to pause my listen.

Many memorable situations for the leading "heroes, but in particular, the time spent in China and the climax in Canada and Idaho. were difficult to pause.

Indian Hill is about an ordinary boy who grows up in relatively normal times but who finds himself thrust into an extraordinary position. Growing up in suburban Boston, Michael enjoys the trials and tribulations that all adolescents go through, from the seemingly tyrannical mother, to girl problems, to run-ins with the law. From there he escapes to college out in Colorado with his best friend, Paul, where they begin to forge new relationships with those around them. It is one girl in particular that has caught Michael's eye, and he alternately pines for her and laments ever meeting her.

What disappointed you about Indian Hill?

If you like a lots of violence, unrealistic dialog, and disappointing SF, this is the book for you.

What was most disappointing about Mark Tufo’s story?

The dialog was so unreal, that I kept wondering why I should continue.

Did Sean Runnette do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Considering the dialog and story, the Narrator did an OK job.

What character would you cut from Indian Hill?

The scientific, military, and government authorities were disappointing..

    Any additional comments?

I'm beginning to think the Audible rating is useless when this Book can be rated 3 or better.

It seems at first like a simple, tragic story. Tyler Wingo, a teenage boy, learns the awful news that his father, a soldier, was killed in action in Afghanistan. Then the extraordinary happens: Tyler receives a communication from his father...after his supposed death. Tyler hires Sean and Michelle to solve the mystery surrounding his father. But their investigation quickly leads to deeper, more troubling questions. Could Tyler's father really still be alive? What was his true mission? Could Tyler be the next target? Sean and Michelle soon realize that they've stumbled on to something bigger and more treacherous than anyone could have imagined.

What did you like best about King and Maxwell? What did you like least?

As usual, the story and its characters keep you listening. Orlagh Cassidy's performance as Maxwell kept reminding me of Saturday morning cartoons. Maybe, the attempt was to attract the TV audience.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sam Wingo seemed to be the most "real" character.

How could the performance have been better?

The first several books of the Series, performed by Scott Brick, were superior performances.

Was King and Maxwell worth the listening time?

    Listen and withstand the performance.

    Any additional comments?

Hard to believe that a person like, Grant, with family, etc. could exist.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Avoid this book and its author. Populate a small town in Maine with 10% either criminally insane or mentally deficient, and, the majority unthinking robots, then put them under pressure. Attempts to break the "force field" are laughable.

What do you think your next listen will be?

A re-listen of the vastly superior, similar stories, "One Second After" by William R. Forstchen, or "Lucifer's Hammer" by Larry Niven, and Jerry Pournelle would be more than satisfactory choices.

Have you listened to any of Raul Esparza’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Narrator was O.K.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    NO!

    Any additional comments?

Tthe author's exhibits a revulsion for religion and admiration for horror and profanity.

His work for the CIA is brilliant, cold-blooded, and efficient, but who is he? In a harrowing tour de force, phenomenally best-selling author Tom Clancy shows how an ordinary man named John Kelly crossed the lines of justice and morality to become the CIA legend known as Mr. Clark. It is an unforgettable journey into the heart of darkness, without mercy - without remorse.

Not unlike Child's Jack Reacher character: making things "right", after the bad guys did their things.
