"disappointing"
I ended up listening to the whole book and although it had some interesting parts, it did not do it for me. The ending was so hurried, lots of things were not explained enough. Unless it is going to be a series, I would not waste a credit on the whole book. The narration was excellent, though.
"alternate history/steampunkish fun"
I'm a huge fan of Larry Correia's Monster Hunter series and that is what drew me to this. I must say I started and stopped this a few times before I finished it but it was definitely worth listening! The story really picked up for me near the end of the first part. After that it was non-stop action! I loved the action sequences and the smart-ass one-liners. Any one who's read Mr. Correia's other books knows they are in for lots of action and cool shoot-em-ups. The characters are quite interesting and I looked forward to finding out all there was to know about them. Bronson Pinchot does an amazing job at narrating this. I'm eagerly awaitng the release of Spellbound, the next in the series, in November.
"New favorite!"
I'm totally hooked on this series! I'm a big fan of vampire stuff but some of it really misses the mark. This one doesn't disappoint! The story is great with plenty of butt-kicking action, plot twists, steamy sex and funny bits as well. Highly recommend this if you are a Buffy or Sookie Stackhouse fan.
"Always entertaining"
I've never been disappointed by this series and this book was no exception. I found myself laughing out loud several times. I just love Lula's attitude! I hope Janet Evanovich continues these books, I would miss them very much if they stopped. Team Ranger all the way!
"Excellent!"
I am so going to miss Lisbeth and the other characters in this series! Definitely these should be read in order and maybe more than once! Simon Vance does a great job narrating. I really wish there were more. So much left to find out......
"different but good"
This book teaches us more about Edward, which is good, but there is very little interaction with Jean-Claude or Richard. That is doubly disappointing because audible doesn't offer Narcissus in Chains, the next book and the one after that has a different reader. Enjoy what little of Jean-Claude you get from this one because in Cerulean Sins the reader doesn't do Jean-Claude's accent. One other thing about this book is there seems to be a few tracks or a chapter missing near the end. I was able to follow with out it, but I thought it was strange.
"can't wait for the next one"
I eagerly anticipated this book! I love the series and Johanna Parker is so Sookie! I hope they never change narrators like they do with some series. Of course, I devoured the book so fast I ended up listening a second time to catch the little things you pick up on the second time around. I will watch True Blood in the meantime and see what Alan Ball does to my favorite series. I can only hope Charlaine Harris continues to write as well for the next installments, how ever many that may be. Long series of books tend to drift downhill. Example: the Anita Blake series. After book 11, it seems nobody has anything nice to say.
"awesome series"
I'm in love with this whole series. I've listened to all of them -twice. Narration is super. Eagerly awaiting the newest release in May.
"great series"
I really liked this series, the characters were good and things move along at good pace.
"very entertaining"
I'm addicted to the Sookie Stackhouse books so this is another series that follows that supernatural genre. It's good, I'm looking forward to listening to more of this series
