"Forget the movie"
The movie almost disgraces the book. The story is well told and great for those with basic understanding of military ops.
"More than your average account..."
There is no way you can not have this book in your collection. Sean Parnell and team are who I will direct my children to when they ask what a hero looks like.
"Thrilling adventure and very amazing story"
I asked my grandparents (grandfather served in WWII) if they remember anything about these events. They do not. The story is thrilling and exciting, the information very palatable, and the impact on your knowledge of WWII history undeniable.
"More a journalists notebook than a tactical book."
This is a good book in general, but the author too often crosses the line into his personal commentary. He seems to be no fan of the war, but I enjoyed it completely even though I am a strong proponent of both the Iraq war and the (albeit imperfect) use of private contractors. I would have enjoyed a book with more tactical details and war stories. This is more a notebook.
