Although Stoker did not invent the vampire, the novel's influence on the popularity of vampires has been singularly responsible for many theatrical, film and television interpretations since its publication. Required listening for any fan of the genre!

Epistolary for is boring and confusing. I tried to listen to this book but it was really really slow. Pick something else. Frankenstein is better.

I really, really wanted to read this. I first picked it up in Powells as a paper back, but could not get past the first 100 pages. So I thought I'd try listening to it while I did some work around the house but I couldn't! It's just too boring! Nothing seems to happen and when things do happen, it's still boring. If you think this is going to be a thrilling book full of political intrigue and fantastic battle scenes, you're dead wrong.

Cornwell is probably one of the best at what he does. This novel is non-stop fun. Once you get into this genre it becomes difficult to continue talking to your friends about how great George RR Martin is.

I listened to this on a long road trip and it made the miles fly by pretty smoothly. I have the second book on my kindle and I'm sure I'll get around to reading it. I like the story but I'd like a book that was more based on reality. Robin Hood is too much of a ghost to really write about.
