The culminating volume in The Saga of Seven Suns weaves together the myriad story lines in a spectacular grand finale. Galactic empires clash, elemental beings devastate whole planetary systems, and the factions of humanity are pitted against one another. Heroes rise and enemies make their last stands in the climax of an epic tale eight years in the making. The Saga of Seven Suns is one of the most colorful and spectacular science-fiction epics of the past decade.

"Never change narrators in the middle of a series"
    Overall

It took the last books in the series to get used to the new narrator. Bad form to change in the middle of the series.

    Enjoyable stories. Great series.

In which Daniel Waterhouse, fearless thinker and courageous Puritan, pursues knowledge in the company of the greatest minds of Baroque-era Europe -- in a chaotic world where reason wars with the bloody ambitions of the mighty, and where catastrophe, natural or otherwise, can alter the political landscape overnight.

    What disappointed you about Quicksilver?

    Nothing happened, very, very slow.

Would you ever listen to anything by Neal Stephenson again?

I've listened to other Stevenson books and really enjoyed them.

Did the narrators do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narration was fine. The story wasn't

John Wells is the only American CIA agent ever to penetrate al Qaeda. Since before the attacks in 2001, Wells has been hiding in the mountains of Pakistan, biding his time, building his cover.

I've been a big fan of Vince Flynn for a long time and was looking for something similar when I found this book I was just thrilled. It's a fast moving story with action and great characters. It's been a long time since I cheered out loud while listening to a book. The narrator is OK, but was glad to see George Guidall narrates the rest of the series. Truly awesome.

Charlie Castillo's secret unit has been disbanded - but that doesn't mean he's out of business. As experience has painfully shown him, there are many things the intelligence community can't do, won't do, or doesn't do well, and he has the men and assets to help set things straight.

    "This wasn't Dick Hill narrating"
    Overall

I think Audible has it wrong, the narrator in this book is not Dick Hill. He read the rest of this series and is great. Griffin needs to quit retelling the previous stories in this series each time there's a new book. We read these books for the new stories. We know the characters, we know the previous plot lines. You Don't have to reminds us that we've read 4 books already. Get us back to Dick Hill and move the story along.

Thousands of autonomous computer programs, or daemons, make our networked world possible, running constantly in the background of our lives, trafficking e-mail, transferring money, and monitoring power grids. For the most part, daemons are benign, but the same can't always be said for the people who design them.

I don't know that I would recomend this one. The narration isn't the best and the story is more than a bit "out there". You have to be very willing to suspend disbelief. Interesting concept, but I don't think I'd suggest it to friends.
