Far to much going on in the story line... and I don't if it was the narration or if it was the way it was written...but some parts were plain ridiculous it was laughable!
I could have listened for hours & hours! and just like another reviewer, when this book was finally available to download, I stopped in the middle of another book I was reading to start this one. Every free minute I could get, I was listening, Wrath & Beth's plot, all the sub plots were great in fact, I think she could do a whole book on Scor & Layla.
If JR Ward continues to crank'em out I will continue to buy and read them! (i've read all eleven books three times) and I really hope she will continue to write more...there is plenty of room for expansion! Tres/IM, Asail etc... I will never get enough of Black Dagger Brotherhood! I think I'll finish my other book and then re-read this one again. No need to ask if its worth a credit...
PS. Jim Frangione is the best! If they even think about using someone else to narrate future books...(in the words of Pretty Woman) It would be the biggest mistake...Huge!
This book was a very good listen I Totally recommend if you like English/Scottish aristocracy books! Defiantly worth a credit!
It wasn't a bad book by any means.. I quite enjoyed the story and I thought the narrator was great I read the other highland series and thought it was wonderful. This one is not quite the same... much more "loving" in the other ones which I liked. This one not so much although the story was entertaining. I will probably buy the rest just because once I start series I have to finish it. The real question is do I wait for the others go on sale? or give up a credit? Hard choice.
The narration made it unreadable. I listen to a lot of books so I am a bit of a narrator snob and to me the tempo and the way in which the narrator read this book just made it difficult to listen to story.
It looked as if it was going to be a good book, but I was totally disappointed in the ending. The narration was decent, and if want something to kill time then this is your book. The story however seemed a bit under developed... and just when it got interesting...the book ended. Not sure I would waste a credit on this one.
I think the story would have been better without all the stuff about the Navy Seals. I found it distracting. Overall it was somewhat entertaining. If I had it to do over again though...I probably wouldn't.... spend a credit. Jim Frangione however, was great as usual. I could listen to him all day :)
Bad plot added music...and I think at the beginning there was something wrong with the recording?! Wants to be twilight but the story just isn't involved enough and neither are the characters. Lets hope the movie does a better job...but wait isn't it supposed to be the other way round?
Not worth the credit. I am normally a fan of this era...I mean I have read every Jane Austen novel, but I'm not sure if its the book or the narrator but I just couldn't connect to make myself listen.
Don't get me wrong I thought it was a great story! The narrator was great! but I thought in this book we would actually get more into Leelee's relationship with her new guy... but it didn't :( it was a story of her going back to Memphis and really didn't get good until the end...and then it ended.
