Not really. Pretty good story line but bizarre narration. I have listened to hundreds of audible selections and this was among the poorest with regard to narration. The FBI agents are narrated in a cartoonish (Inspector Gadget comes to mind) manner; if FBI agent Blake's narration were in text message format it would be all caps with exclamation marks after every word, phrase or sentence. Really strange. NO ONE in real life talks like that. And his female sidekick, Lamarr... sounds like a psycho in desperate need of a good psychotherapist. It was actually painful listening to much of the narration. Just horribly done.
Story line was OK and somewhat plausible although the deception by the villain was so complicated that it made no sense whatsoever. Much easier to create a serial murder scenario without having to lug hundreds of gallons of "camo green" paint all over the country.
In my opinion, Mr. McClain has a lot of learning to do or needs to seek another profession.
Compared to some of the other Jack Reacher novels....NO.
