typical bachelor party is all about beers and beautiful women. A vampire bachelor party is no different - except the men are drinking Blissky (whiskey-flavored synthetic blood). And no one can throw a party quite like Jack, the illegitimate son of the legendary Casanova. But when the party gets out of hand and the cops show up, Jack has some explaining to do... if only he wasn't struck speechless by the beauty of Officer Lara Boucher. Lara is sure there's something more than a bachelor party going on. Why is Jack so interested in the recent disappearance of young women all over town?

What disappointed you about Secret Life of a Vampire?

Nearly everything out of the black character's mouth was from a racist stereotype.

Has Secret Life of a Vampire turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No

Would you listen to another book narrated by Jennifer Bradshaw?

    Yes

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Secret Life of a Vampire?

Every scene with racist "black" dialogue

    Any additional comments?

There is a pattern of racist stereotypes from this author. In addition to the sickening black female character in this book there is also Phineas McKinney (black drug dealing Vampire from Be Still My Vampire Heart.

Mels Carmichael, reporter for the Caldwell Courier Journal, gets the shock of her life when a man stumbles in front of her car outside the local cemetery. After the accident, his amnesia is just the kind of mystery she likes to solve, but she soon discovers they're in over their heads with his past. Over their heads with passion, too.... As shadows walk the line between reality and another realm, and her lover's memory begins to come back, the two of them learn that nothing is truly dead and buried.

Would you try another book from J. R. Ward and/or Eric Dove?

Yes, his previous narration was great. His voice is smooth and cool.

If you’ve listened to books by J. R. Ward before, how does this one compare?

Not as good. I need a speed button.

What didn’t you like about Eric Dove’s performance?

Eric is awesome but the narration speed was too fast. It made me feel anxious so I could not enjoy the book.
