The story is great but buy the book. The narrator is a male who has no talent for voices. he goes from normal male voice to gruff. That is his only range. Tess is not a man. In clockwork angel the female narrator had many ranges. It was wonderful to listen but this is appalling! Don't buy.

"My love, speak to me. Tell me everything.” Neferet went to Kalona, kneeling before him, stroking the soft, dark wings that unfurled loosely around the immortal. “What would you have me say?” He didn’t meet her eyes. “Zoey lives.” Neferet’s voice was flat, cold, lifeless.“She does.”“Then you owe me the subservience of your immortal soul.” She started to walk away from him.“Where are you going? What will happen next?”

HON rocks something special. The heroine is strong and courageous. That is why I prefer this series to Twilight. I hate weak women and I hate to read about them even more. I ike that it conveys being strong and sometimes changing to become something more even when it isn't the popular choice. In this book we see Rephaim and can see the turmoil pain and difficulty change can bring but how love is worth the sacrifice.
It also promotes breaking barriers of dissent and segregation. Even when family is the one that has framed the idea of that in one's mind. Is it possible to open one's self to love when you never had a framework of it? Is it even worth it?
This is an important book in the series. We see how important love is and may even be the ultimate weapon as is the ultimate price.
I love this book for giving us so much to think upon. Excellent!

For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals - pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards...and that she'll never be prepared for that duty. According to her mother, that's a good thing. But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami.

    Hmmm...Reminds me of something... Anyone?
Okay so it is exactly the same as vampire academy but what can I say. I loved it. She probably should be sued for this but I look at it as a rapper or a country singer taking from a good old blues song. If it ain't broke don't get mad when they rip you off. lol
In all the prequel is very important to read prior to the series. This novella tells you more about the character's mom and how she was. She was more than the average pure. She really did love her daughter. So it is a good book to start with. However I hate the fact the company only has this novella. How lame is that. So you are excited about a series and then they just leave it there. sigh. Nevertheless I am sure once they put up the rest, the review will be mixed. Die hard vamp academy fans will be pissed. I am a little. But it is so hard to find books that have the myth and combat in it along with the other details we enoy so much that I had to bite and I say the series is worth the few bucks on kindle. Yet I am sure it will not be worth the 20 bucks they will undoubtedly price this series.
    We shall see.

The world of Faerie never disappeared: it merely went into hiding, continuing to exist parallel to our own. Secrecy is the key to Faerie’s survival—but no secret can be kept forever, and when the fae and mortal worlds collide, changelings are born. Half-human, half-fae, outsiders from birth, these second-class children of Faerie spend their lives fighting for the respect of their immortal relations.

What disappointed you about Rosemary and Rue?

This was so horrible I do not know where to start. I do not think the narrator could have made the story line sound better. I have written better stories on a napkin. She was such a pathetic character. October Daye spent the whole book feeling bad for herself. The only time she did not was when she was saying how much she loved a man that beat her and others. I just dont get it. What was the point of the book? To solve a case and complain about her life.
I know not all books can be wonderful or great. but they should be priced by how good the story line and performance is.
This book is worth 1.99. No more.
please Do Not Buy this horrible book.it is not about fey but fey politics.and even that is total garbage.
