    "A politician without talking points?"
    Overall

How can that be? As a staunch democrat I never imagined cheering for a Republican. However, hearing Senator Hagel speak on many occasions has convinced me that it isn't the party but the man (or woman) I should vote for. I had hoped he would run for President and my second hope is that Senator Obama might choose him, if not for VP, at least in his cabinet. He is a fascinating man, excellent speaker and a great American. Highly recommended interview.

At 31, Noah Calhoun, back in coastal North Carolina after World War II, is haunted by images of the girl he lost more than a decade earlier. At 29, socialite Allie Nelson is about to marry a wealthy lawyer, but she cannot stop thinking about the boy who long ago stole her heart. Thus begins the story of a love so enduring and deep it can turn tragedy into triumph, and may even have the power to create a miracle.

    "My favorite book so far"
    Overall

I read the book, listened to book and saw the movie. My favorite so far is the audio-version. Highly recommended. Much better than the rescue which I find a little far-fetched and overly gooey.

Inventive and uniquely original novelist Jasper Fforde sends his literary sleuth on another wildly imaginative journey through time and literature. Thursday Next faces a sinister global multinational corporation represented by Mr. Schitt-Hawse, beats the magistrate from Kafka's The Trial at his own game, and trains for her next assignment by apprenticing herself to Miss Havisham. Thursday then accepts the ultimate challenge: capture Acheron Hades, the murderer of characters from the classics.

Anna says: "a zany action packed romp through lit."
    "Too goofy for me"
    Overall

I couldn't get the purpose of the book and didn't enjoy it at all.

Three Junes is a vividly textured symphonic novel set on both sides of the Atlantic during three fateful summers in the lives of a Scottish family. Three Junes "almost threatens to burst with all the life it contains...extraordinary," says Michael Cunningham, author of The Hours.

Dagmar says: "Beautiful Narration of a Wonderful Story!"
    "Not for the car"
    Overall

This was a difficult book to listen to in the car but it might be nice to hear it relaxing at home. But who has the time? I liked the reader but I kept getting lost and sometimes it was hard to understand while driving.

The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, & Broke is financial expert Suze Orman's answer to a generation's cry for help. They're called "Generation Debt", people in their 20s and 30s who graduate from college with a mountain of student loan debt and are stuck with one of the weakest job markets in recent history, yet they're painfully aware of the urgent need to take matters into their own hands.

Anthony says: "Much needed for my generation"
    "Valid advice as always"
    Overall

If the young people all bought this book and took the author's advice, we would not have very many bankruptcies in the future. There is no real-life education in our schools. Someone had to tell our young people that bling, bling on credit is not what's cool (or phat). Great book.

every morning to hear the next chapter of this wonderful book. I have enjoyed all of Amy Tan's books but this one is her best. I have learned so much about the Chinese culture new and old and I have a better appreciation of it. Thank you Amy Tan for another wonderful book.

Ellen DeGeneres published her first book of comic essays, the #1 best selling My Point...and I Do Have One, way back in 1996. Not one to rest on her laurels, the witty star of stage and screen has since dedicated her life to writing a hilarious new book. That book is this audiobook.

Heidi says: "Ellen's latest book- The Funny Thing Is..."
    "Not funny"
    Overall

How disappointing! I am such a fan of Ellen but I didn't find this book funny at all. Never even finished it. Now, I'm wiser and listen to the samples before buying just because I like the author.

    Overall

that all 200+ so called swift boat veterans fit into it with John Kerry and witnessed everything. Just as biased as some of the books on the left, but much more insidious and truth-stretching then any of them. One must take a long hot shower after this one!
