I'm really enjoying this story and love the characters, Brooke and Nola. This is right up there with her other novels. I love the humor and the serious lines as well. The only thing I can't enjoy is this reader - it's 'ok' but she really doesn't enunciate some words and it sounds rather unprofessional for a book reader. Example: "impordent" instead of pronouncing "important". Other than that, it's a fun book.
Wow - this was a book I downloaded because it was on sale thinking it would be okay. I was so astonished!! I felt like I knew and understood each and every character and did not predict any of the many, many twists and turns this novel took. I was hooked and carried my iPod with me for any moment to listen. I will find more of Kate Morton's books as soon as possible! Oh, and the narrater was perfect too.
I have read Kathy Reich's previous books and loved them, not this one. If you like being read the encyclopedia, you might enjoy this. The narrators voice has little inflection between characters and very monotone. She sounds just like she was reading from the book. The book itself goes off into extreme unnecessary detail. I had to fastforward just to get past it so many parts hoping to find the actually story again. I had to quit listening.
