  • Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal

Verily, the story Biff has to tell is a miraculous one, filled with remarkable journeys, magic, healings, kung fu, corpse reanimations, demons, and hot babes. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior's pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. But there's no one who loves Josh more (except maybe "Maggie," Mary of Magdalan) and Biff isn't about to let his extraordinary pal suffer and ascend without a fight.

I enjoyed this audio immensely! Witty and fun with respect for the basis of anyone's belief system. I was concerned by some of the less positive reviews but was pleasantly entertained by this listen.

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.

Would you try another book from Seth Grahame-Smith and/or Scott Holst?

    Yes, definitely

What was one of the most memorable moments of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter?

Not necessarily a moment but the subtle tie ins to how Lincoln developed opinions on different subjects based on his experiences. I thought those were great.

Could you see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Little too late for this question.

    Any additional comments?

If you love history, but are down to get your fiction on, then this is a great book for you!

In this remarkable dual memoir, film legend Martin Sheen and accomplished actor/filmmaker Emilio Estevez recount their lives as father and son. In alternating chapters—and in voices that are as eloquent as they are different—they narrate stories spanning more than 50 years of family history, and reflect on their journeys into two different kinds of faith.

Where does Along the Way: The Journey of a Father and Son rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among other autobiographies I would rank this book in the top ten.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the fact that they were honest about their story even when it might have been uncomfortable to do so.

Did Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes and I appreciated how they remembered things differently.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, actually it is better to take it in pieces. You don't want to listen to your uncle tell you his entire life story in one sitting do you?

Karigan G’ladheon, running away from school, is traveling through a deep forest when a galloping horse pounds up to her, its rider impaled by two black-shafted arrows. With his dying breath, he tells her he is a Green Rider, one of the magical messengers of the King. Before he dies, he makes Karigan swear to deliver the message he’s carrying, and gives her his green coat, with the symbolic brooch of his office.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Absolutely! It completely pulls you into the experience of the characters. The author does not dwell on over explaining details but lets the reader figure it out, which I really appreciated!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Appropriate. The ending did not drag on, but wrapped up and left me wanting more!

Which character – as performed by Ellen Archer – was your favorite?

Hard to select just one she was fantastic, but the Berry sisters were a lot of fun!

    Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book very much and can't wait to dive into the next one.

Killing used to be my regular gig, after all. Gin Blanco, aka the Spider, assassin-for-hire. And I was very, very good at it. Now, I'm ready to make the one hit that truly matters: Mab Monroe, the dangerous Fire elemental who murdered my family when I was 13. Oh, I don't think the mission will be easy, but turns out it's a bit more problematic than expected. The bitch knows I'm coming for her. So now I'm up against the army of lethal bounty hunters Mab hired to track me down. She also put a price on my baby sister's head. Keeping Bria safe is my first priority.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

If you have invested time in the previous books then yes.

What was most disappointing about Jennifer Estep’s story?

The constant retelling of the previous books stories. I found this to be overdone to the point of annoying.

What three words best describe Lauren Fortgang’s performance?

    Sultry Smooth and Southern

Could you see Spider's Revenge being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Sure absolutely, Serinda Swan would be great as the Spyder

Druid Atticus O’Sullivan hasn’t stayed alive for more than two millennia without a fair bit of Celtic cunning. So when vengeful thunder gods come Norse by Southwest looking for payback, Atticus, with a little help from the Navajo trickster god Coyote, lets them think that they’ve chopped up his body in the Arizona desert. But the mischievous Coyote is not above a little sleight of paw, and Atticus soon finds that he’s been duped into battling bloodthirsty desert shape-shifters called skinwalkers.

What made the experience of listening to Tricked the most enjoyable?

The developing relationship of teacher and apprentice. They are becoming a team which is fun. Any scene with Oberon is fantastic! Sausages!

What other book might you compare Tricked to and why?

Bite me, by Christopher Moore, because it is fun and funny and just because someone does something that may appear wrong doesn't make them evil.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, all of the previous Iron Druid books. This book falls right in line with the rest, fantastic and fun.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did break out laughing in the middle of Costco!
