"Good book"
I enjoyed this second book almost as much as the first one, but not quite.
Narration was top notch even though it was funny to hear Saul Reichlin trying to do the high pitch voice of the blond giant : )
I highly recommend this book after having read the first of course
"As usual this Monster Hunter book rocks!"
Lots of good old fashion violence and explosions.
When getting one of the Monster Hunter books you know it's not Shakespeare, what is is though is great fun and wonderful battles from start to end.
I wish the books were longer but can't wait for the next one to come out.
"Wow, that was a loooong book"
I have a theory that the author has major mommy issues and was probably a drag queen.
Man oh man, all of this "men are so stupid" and "women are strange" crap is REALLY getting on my nerves, I mean, we KNOW you've said it at least 100 times per book so far, we get it, your mommy didn't breast feed you..it's ok get over it (I know he is dead), and why oh why does he go on and on about the "colour and texture of the lace on the green silk low cut neckline dress" blah blah blah...this book could have been at least 10 hours shorter and it would still have been long at times.
I will finish the series because I have read 6 so far and the story is good, but if the next one is as slow as this one I will give up.
"Just one problem with this book"
It's way too short.
What a great book, fast, funny, witty with lots and lots of action.
Loved it, already downloaded the other 2 in the series.
"Waaayy to many disasters for the same people"
This book is very well written and takes you to 14th century England very well.
BUT the same people seem to get a disaster every other page and it just keeps coming, it gets to the point where I went...oh come on..again???
The evil people seem to be invincible and get away with everything and the poor people get shafted at every turn, I know that 14th century England was not very fair, but it's just too much at one point.
In any case, I enjoyed the book but will think twice before listening to another of his books.
John Lee is his usual fantastic self and makes the story flow with his flawless reading.
"Loved it"
I don't understand the negative critics, it might not be the kind of book that everyone loves, but it definitely is a great book, I am hoping for a sequel. As for adjusting to the accent (???) come on...there is absolutely no problem with the accent, the reader speaks clearly and is very easy to understand.
I highly recommend this book as it has lots of twists and turns and the end is very interesting.
"Loved the book"
There is a creepy slow atmosphere to this book, and it seems, reading the reviews for her 1st book that this is a trait of this writer.
At first I was always hoping that one of the characters would get up and actually DO something instead of being the victims all the time, but as the story evolved, I learned to just let it be and enjoy the story.
I think that the reader does a great job of being Libby with a slow and tired voice which fits in with the character.
I recommend this book very highly.
"MEH!!!"
Seriously, it really looks like Dan Brown is just trying to fill some pages with mindless and BORING religious and ancient crap that goes nowhere and doesn't add much to the story which itself is not that good.
By far the weakest of his books so far, we are very very far from Digital Fortress and DaVinci Code in terms of nail biting stories.
"Great story"
This story almost makes you see the London underground and smell the decay.
The author is great at conveying a mood and created some great characters.
A couple of times I did get frustrated at how stupid the main character was, but the story got me caught up just as quickly.
The only other thing that was so so was the the main character's quest to get the key...it's almost as if the author really didn't have a clue as to what to write and created a very lame quest indeed.
I would definitely recommend this book if you enjoy the dark Victorian style stories as i do.
"Good book, bad reader"
Please hire a professional to read the text next time you write a book, it's very irritating to have to listen to someone that has a poor reading voice for a whole book.
